Anorthernsoul 1221
That place with the big horse statue is supposed to be canny in the town. The Herb Garden is decent, not a lot of choice though and it's a tight squeeze inside the place. Like they've put too many tables in a small space. Monkeys Fist 43224
It's also just a hop and a mince away from the Arse Irrigation shop that Fish was interested in , CT. http://centralhealthcare.co.uk
catmag 337
Don't know if it's been mentioned in here already (cos I can't be arsed to check) but we went to the South Causey Inn for lunch today and the food was amazing. Beautiful setting and lots of animals to keep the bairn entertained too.

Even though it's not new I still don't think that you can look past Blackfriar's.

House of Tides, Kenny Atkinson's new place. I don't think there are any other restaurants in town that are on the level of Cafe 21/Jesmond Dene House. Maybe Six @ The Baltic? In any case, House of Tides surpasses them all. Full nine course tasting menu experience too, which you won't be getting elsewhere in town. Christmas Tree 4858
Also worth mentioning that if one of you doesn't mind driving, 15 minutes out of Newcastle and you can be in the library restaurant , matfen hall. Quite a romantic suprise given your history as well.
