DWP Scum

Was made redundant a few weeks back so had to follow the unfortunate route of having to sign on to see me over until the New Year when the job searching is likely to bear more fruits.

Anyway my first point of contact with them was the 23rd November where i have to say they were very helpful and assured me i would get something before the Christmas and everything was being processed. Now as everyone knows the Christmas time is a very expensive business and luckily i had managed to get most of the big gifts in whilst i was still working but i was banking on a windfall this week from the scum to finiush my shopping off.

Only yesterday i received a letter from them notifying me i wasn't entitled to anything as i hadn't paid enough NI contributions in the tax year 2003 to entitle me to contribution based Jobseekers, and because wor lass works full time I couldn't claim income based and she would now be expected to keep me and the bairn until I found full time employment again, which is fair enough.

But what really boils my piss is the fact I've worked full time since I left school (14 years) and always paid my way and there's these Refugees and Asylum seekers who haven't paid a fucking penny into this country along with the can't work, won't work lot and they get every benefit under the fucking sun, like one of wor lasses mates who's just been given a £2000 incentive to get back to work full time after years of scrounging off the state.

DWP incompetent cunts - fact

Rant over.

Life of crime for me from now on as it definitely pays better than the dole, anyone want to buy some drugs

They refused me dole when I got back from Oz depsite the fact it was just before Xmas and I'd never signed on before in my life and always paid NI, taxes etc. As it happens I was only out of work for about 4 weeks. I was fucking livid like, the people who don't even try and get a job get it no bother.

They didn't even have the decency to sit me down at a desk to discuss these personal issues, i was kept at the front desk with a trail of people behind me listening to my every word, hence the letter I'm currently draughting to my MP stating the office manager's name and the name of the member of staff that dealt with me.

If this is how they treat their x employees i fell sorry for the rest of you.

Dry your eyes Wacky. Leaving the DWP was the worst decision you ever made, it's like a holiday school. Take today for example, I'm fiddling my flexi so I can swan off at 12 bells to the office xmas do, and as my boss is off she'll never know, then there's all the special leave I take for imaginary gas leaks, garage floodings etc.

There might be a job on my team in the New Year actually if your interested. It's a piece of piss mate, nowt taxing, right up your straza tbh.

My Mrs had to have back surgery in January and hasn't been able to work since. She didn't really want to claim anything but had to see the DWP to sign on anyway. She explained why she couldn't work and they basically hoyed money at her. I had to drag her there (not too hard because of the back like) in the first place because she felt guilty claiming but I'm not surprised people go to the Dr faking back pain like. We couldn't believe how much of a piece of piss it was. It's shite really, especially as the Mrs really wants to get back to work but with the waiting times for MRI scans to see if the problem is correcting itself and the general pain of it means she has to wait.

You've got neck problems Wacky haven't you? From having to look up 24/7!

You could get money for that by the sound of it.

They should've spotted that when your head didn't clear the desk at the job centre tbh.

basically correct, strange of you to have a go at decision makers, when normally you turn a blind eye to changing "the system", however you still miss the point that millions of pounds of our money is given to people who are coming here just for that very purpose with no intention of adapting their life to integrate into the community which has given them a new home, stopping this for some reason isnt' part of your solution but it would very much be part of mine, and I suspect, others too.

According tyo the CBI more than 97% of immigrants have jobs - maybe these workshy scum could teach a few people in the North East a lesson?

I was just talking to my French colleague who said she had stats on Eastern European migrants who've come in since the EU changed and a high percentage of them have secured employment. Yes, they want to come here because the life is better, but they're also not afraid to roll their sleeves up and contribute. Have you got on a bus in Newcaslte lately?

Just wondering where you're getting your info from?

A lot of people talk the same shit in Dublin, 'stealing our jobs', 'scrounging off the system' etc. Coincidentally the comments generally come from people who's job is scrounging off the system. When I saw the average work ethic of the refugees compared to the inciteful social philosophers I was wondering if an exchange program would be possible.

The hardest working man I know moved to this country through marriage and works insane amounts of overtime in order to pay his mortgage and bills while his wife looks after their new baby. I'd sooner have his sort in this society than the charver layabout hordes I've had the misfortune of working alongisde or meeting in the past.

There is certainly a major issue with our approach to immigration with the ever-expanding EU, but right now the much bigger problem is the section of our society that chooses to start fires, mug people, throw bricks at ambulances and so on.

That's true. The government won't let assylum seekers work until they've been granted refugee status. I think if they were given the opportunity, most would like to work.

My Mam's a teacher and has had a few kids from families seeking assylum. She had one a couple of years ago. They were Iranians and both the parents were university educated laboritory technicians working in a hospital. Over here there are shortages of those same jobs in hospitals and yet the government wouldn't let them work. Absurd.

That said though, it does sound harsh that if you've been working full time since you left school that you're not entitled to any benefits. That to me is just wrong.

If these statements are true (and Im not doubting you here) then theres a rabbit off somewhere, if you know you worked all of the time from April 2003 to Aril 2004 then you should have a qualifying year for that time.

It is highly possible that theres a problem with the Inland Revenue records (believe me I know!) that are used to calculate any benefit however the DWP would not know this was the case and would just assume their records were right. If your employer was one of those that were on the ball and with this t'internet thingy then theres a chance that their records are one of the many thousands that disappeared for 03/04 year. Outside of that there are many other reasons why your account may not be in order for instance should your employer get your Surname or First name wrong (or combinations of other data) then the system cant match the contributions to your account and throws it out for someone to review and find the correct account.

I would recommend getting any pay statements you have for 03/04 and going back to the Job Centre on an appointment, ask them for details of the contributions included and find out if any employments are missing then argue the case and tell them to contact IR to trace your contributions.

Thats the problem Pease, I went missing for 4 months in 2002 and didn't work or sign the dole and thats what has fucked my N.I contributions up and the reason I can't claim income based Job seekers.

The year their taking into account is the one ending April 2003. I started at Longbenton June 2003 until Oct 2005.

Believe me Peasepud, Wacky is leading you down the garden path with the intention of entering you from behind.

He's always been economical with the truth and this is no different, he claims to have been made redundant from this latest job, although his exact words to me were that he told them to "stick their job up there arse"!

Ask him about his 4 month stretch in 2002, her Majesty had him at her pleasure I do recall!

Pass the soap Wacky, oops sorry I forgot that brings back horrible flashbacks for you.
