Sylvain Marveaux

I'm not a big fan of Simpson, Makes a lot of mistakes and not that effective going forward. Good Premiership player but not a top 6 player. If you look at the way Santon gets forward (when he plays) he takes people on and has a bit of pace about him, you don't get that with Simpson. He isn't going to sign a new deal anyway so I think we should get what we can for him now. I'm sure a lot of you don't agree but it's just my opinion.

Let's wait until we have the squad depth to consistently finish in the top 10 before we start worrying about European campaigns.

We need to hang on to Simpson as he's been our first choice right back for 3 seasons now.

Aye I don't fancy losing Simpson, whatever people think of him he's played 2 full Prem seasons with us now and at worst is good back up as we know he can come in and do a job.

And then I'll post the stats that prove that you're the best contributor to this forum

Stats can lie CT, as a man who fiddles the fares should know

it would be canny if Marveaux can come in and be a quality player in the wide right or left position, which means the club can concentrate on signing a quality left back, central defender and a striker.

We have Ben Arfa and Jonas, but there is nothing wrong with strength in depth, especially if you want to progress and we qualify for europe, in fact it's essential.

We sign those 3 players and we are really looking some side.

Completely forget about Marveaux from time to time, will be a massive plus if he manages to stay fit. Looks to have some real quality about him.

I doubt he would make the first 11 will all fit but players like him on the bench makes a huge difference when the game isn't going our way. Also will allow us to get some of the young lads out on loan getting some much needed experience.

most of us seem to agree that this is what needs to be done now ie keep our best players and continue adding quality to it.

Which is a concern when you see the article CT was fawning over basically saying 'everyones for sale' and he laps it up.

Oh do fuck off you old woman and stick to your football manager.

Oh dear

"Everyone knows that Sylvain had groin injuries the year before he joined us as well, but we have nailed it down, we have rehabbed him and it seems to have gone very well," Newcastle's coach told nufc.co.uk.

"He looked so much better against Monaco, even just in the 10-15 minutes he was on.

"He looked as if he was moving better - he wasn't as stiff or upright and was moving much better. That was really important to see, and when I spoke to Sylvain after the match he told me he felt so much better in himself.

"He's obviously a left-footer as well, and that helps the balance of our team, which will be important to us this season.

"Sylvain seems like he is getting his confidence back, he played some lovely stuff and looked very comfortable on the ball against Monaco.

"That's the Sylvain that we bought, so that has been a huge plus for us this tour."

He needs to do it on the pitch in league or cups and I hope he does!

Anything else right now is just hot air.

(Despite CT's bonk on). ;)
