ChezGiven 0
The op at the Steadman clinic in the US was a success and he will be in contention for a start at the end of January. Not that bad, they must have felt they could sort out the problem in the long term to send him over there for an op.
sniffer 0
I'm not holding my breathe. Three to four months recovery and in contention for a start at the end of January seems to be a bit optimistic to me. You do mean January 2012, right? Brock Manson 0
Players get injured. Rather we didn't risk his long term fitness by rushing him back. I will say that Pardew has so far done well in regards to re-introducing injury absentees. Ben Arfa looks likely to come back as the same player he was when he got injured, Gosling is finally getting some time on the pitch and hopefully he'll give Shola a long rest too. Every time one of our players gets a long term injury they're immediately written off as a crock ffs.

trophyshy 7066
Linguistically, at least, we should play better when we're Marveaux less.
Brock Manson 0
Linguistically, at least, we should play better when we're Marveaux less. I know your post wasn't trying to Mar, veaux he looked a very handy player in his cameos so far so he'll be a loss.

Brock Manson 0
I reckon he could've kept Berty (sorry Tecato) out of the team tbh.
Kitman 2204
It's hard to miss someone who's barely played for us. Obertan seemed to be preferred to him anyway

Kevin S. Assilleekunt 1
He has decent technique from the glimpses I've seen, enough to say without question that he is on another level (technique-wise) to the likes of Obertan. Some lovely one-touch moves and close control under pressure. Shame he appears to be a crock.

Christmas Tree 4669
Marveaux jets out to Tenerife SYLVAIN MARVEAUX has joined his Newcastle United team-mates during their warm weather training camp in Tenerife. The Frenchman – last seen in action in November before suffering a groin tear – is making good progress with his injury, and Alan Pardew wanted him onboard when his troopers jetted to the Canaries for a mid-season break. Marveaux, who flew to Colorado for surgery at the Steadman Clinic last year, could return to action towards the end of next month if he continues making good progress. Back then Marveaux was operated on by Dr Marc Phillppon and the operation was described as a “success” by the Magpies. But United have not handed the player a comeback date to reduce the pressure on the speedy former Rennes winger. Marveaux though will join in with some of the team bonding sessions Pardew plans to put on for his players in Tenerife. Achilles victim Steven Taylor was also in the group that jetted out from Gatwick Airport on Saturday night following the 5-2 loss at Fulham. Taylor has set his sights on making a return on the final day of the current season at Everton in May, but is still very much in the early part of his rehab. The player has been wearing a protective boot but is soon expected to be able to manage without it. sniffer 0
Given his history, I'd rather make sure he's ready for pre-season training. No point in bringing him back for this one.
