...Nolan, Barton, Jonas and Enrique are sold.

Presuming we get figures of around 4mil for Nolan, 4mil for Barton, 8mil for Enrique and 8mil for Jonas. Aye the team spirit that was forged may well be dispanded but in terms of qualit on the pitch who realistically would you be happy with that we got in as replacements?

Enrique: M'Bengue 6mil OR Warnock 3mil to go into the 1st team and Neil Taylor as back up 1mil

Barton: Cabaye 4.5mil

Nolan: Gardner 5mil

Jonas: N'Zogbia 10mil

That there is pretty much replacing each for the same amount as we'd get for all of them.

Leaving the 35mil to still be spent on ADDITIONS...STx2 and a RW.

So rather than adding to the squad and giving us depth we're going to still have squad of the same size? Weak and pissy, couple of injuries and we're fucked... again... oh, and no team spirit to help out this time either. Great, because let's face it, that £35m still won't get spent - additions my eye.

Cant you read? Man and i had you down as the intelligent type.

Replace with the money we'd receive from outgoings and ADD to the squad with the 35mil. Simples.

Alex really has been busy on you lot like.

Theres been a lot of talk of this team spirit, but has anyone actually been in amongst it to say it's been there? I've seen Barton interviewed after a few matches saying it's there, but is that just with the scouse brotherhood? I wouldn't believe anything that comes out of his mouth tbh. Obviously touting for a move himself now by the tweet and opening his mouth with sob stories about wanting to win a trophy with the club etc since Nolan is away.

Fucking hell you're brainwashed!

Forgive me, I'm not going to trawl through the threads but I'm pretty certain that it was universally agreed that we needed to expand the size of the squad?

A good chunk of the £35m is gone - It signed Ben Arfa on a permanent deal and also extended Tiote's contract. I mention Tiote deliberately as he's gone on record to say how much playing with Nolan has improved his game.

Squad morale has been shot to shit on the grounds of how this has been handled - Barton's comments on Twitter should highlight that plain and simple. There's no way on god's green earth the likes of Enrique & Jonas will want to stay now that the club have signalled their intent. And who, that is anything decent, is going to want to join this circus?

I don't think Jonas would mind staying, he seems like a really good pro, and imo is a great player to have as a squad member. He is rarely injured; he often relieves pressure in games with his runs; he usually puts in a good shift and contributes defensively at times; he can play in a few different positions if required. He gets grief because of his lack of end product, but if he was a superb crosser and striker of the ball he'd be with a CL team. He made a valuable contribution in light of Ben Arfa's injury last season imo.

Don't try and twist this TN.

This summer should have been about adding to the squad that did surprisingly well for us overall last season.

Instead we look to be ripping out the spine and replacing them, using valuable resources, time and effort in the process. All of those players you list are no better than those they'd replace, aside from N'Zogbia.

The image of the club is damaged by stuff like this and it sends out an awful message to potential new incomings.

Fuck sake.

Nolan and Barton are 29. If we can bring in younger players of good quality on cheaper wages then why not?

These things happen and i just dont see how whinging and crying is going to make any fuckin difference at all.

Just accept it a look at ways we can still improve.

Personally i think Jonas will stay. Barton could follow suit to West Ham and Jose will move abroad.

Cabaye will be our new creative force through the middle (i hope) Guthrie and Gosling will move into Nolans squad place if we dont bring in someone like Gardner and we would need a quality left back as replacement for Enrique...Warnock would to short term but i'd much rather we got M'Bengue.

A match day 18 of...

---Krul---

Simpson---S.Taylor---Coloccini---M'Bengue

---Cabaye---Tiote---

Jonas---------Ben Arfa---------N'Zogbia

---Erdinc---

Subs: Harper, R.Taylor, Williamson, N.Taylor, Gosling, Gardner and Ba

...Would be an improvement in my eyes.

Do football players suddenly become quadriplegics between the ages of 29 and 30? What the fuck is wrong with having a few experienced players amongst what is already a young squad?

you and your wacky ideas!

Everyone knows thew way to a successful Premiership campaign is to have little experience of the league or even the country. A healthy mix of young homesick foreigners and Championship nobodies never did Sir Alex or Arsene any harm did it?

I tell you what it is, People like Deno/tiotenutz/whatever would have been twatted for coming out like shite like this at the match when I was younger. That, really is a fact.

Honestly Deano you are wasting your time with most of these negative normans on here.

They avoid all memories of Barton and Nolan knocking back extended deals in January.

They avoid the types of players who we are currently trying to bring in, 80 days before the window closes.

They avoid looking at the depth of the midfielders already on the books and linked with.

They avoid the fact that Barton has cooked his own goose at talk ins and in the press.

And they avoid the fact that Enrique has wanted champions league football for some time now.

They avoid all of this, rant and rave, mention nothing of the potential of the footballers Graham Carr may well have in the Gosforrth Park as we speak.....

Yet come August when the younger fitter better team is raring to go, they will be frothing with excitement. (Apart from the usual suspects who will have moved on to fortelling of the doom and horrors awaiting us at Christmas.

That's wrong though: as annoying as he is, I cannot support violence against people, especially the mentally handicapped.

I'm not condoning violence against anyone, just stating that his motives would've been scrutinised a little forcefully once upon a time. More fucking bothered with mobile phones and fantasy football than their own fucking eyes. Some on this MB are as much NUFC fans as I am a fan of take bastard that.

according to the club, meanwhile according to the players, agents, press and co they were not good or even fair deals. They were designed to piss off players the club didnt want and allow mongs on message boards to wank themselves silly at the "good business"

They avoid the types of players who we are currently trying to bring in, 80 days before the window closes.

show me a proven goalscorer to replace the two we've now lost and maybe I'll start to think differently.

They avoid looking at the depth of the midfielders already on the books and linked with.

which poster/twitter account did you nick that one from? You wouldnt know a depth of midfield if it came with a full statistical breakdown attached. As for linked with, wooohooo maybe we should be waiting until after these "quality links" are signed before we sell our existing midfield players.

They avoid the fact that Barton has cooked his own goose at talk ins and in the press.

unlike you of course who ignore the fact that every time Dekka opens his gob hes proven to be a lying little waste of oxygen

And they avoid the fact that Enrique has wanted champions league football for some time now.

And what do the good clubs do when they have players like that? yes, they prove to them that they have the ambition and plans to match the players needs. Thats what proper football clubs do, we are no better than Wigan with Whelans "any player that wants to leave I will help, we understand that we're shit and they want proper clubs". Saying that though, why would Enrique go to Liverpool if he wants CL?

They avoid all of this, rant and rave, mention nothing of the potential of the footballers Graham Carr may well have in the Gosforrth Park as we speak.....

you can have all the potential in the world, it doesnt prove a thing. Potential talent needs to feed off quality experience, as said elsewhere Tiote has waxed lyrically about the effect Nolan has had on him, no doubt hes not alone. The new crop of players wont get that. For every Tiote we sign theres two James Perch's and a Xisco.

Yet come August when the younger fitter better team is raring to go, they will be frothing with excitement. (Apart from the usual suspects who will have moved on to fortelling of the doom and horrors awaiting us at Christmas.

Only time will tell dipshit only time will tell.

Really? I think you'll find Nolan has said he did demand 5 years when he knocked us back in January, but now wants us to believe he was only playing hardball.

They avoid the types of players who we are currently trying to bring in, 80 days before the window closes.

show me a proven goalscorer to replace the two we've now lost and maybe I'll start to think differently.

Lets let them complete that task first eh?

I think we had Nolans replacement, Cabaye, before we sold Nolan....Isnt that the clever way to do it.

They avoid the fact that Barton has cooked his own goose at talk ins and in the press.

Which has nothing to do with Barton...

But we have no ambition to break into the CL any time soon. I think most of us, including Enrique know that.

They avoid all of this, rant and rave, mention nothing of the potential of the footballers Graham Carr may well have in the Gosforrth Park as we speak.....

Cant live on yesterday though can you? Pardew wants a fast attacking midfield that doesnt include Nolan. Tiotes game might even improve again with better fitter players around him. Even Alex thinks we saw the best of Nolan last year.

I think I know what you will be coming out with in August. Your getting a bit of a track record for it. ;)

The players I would want are unlikely to come to us, realistic targets could be;

Realistically I'd go for;

Enrique: van aanholt 6m or Ryan Bertrand 4m

Barton: Keep him, it's simply not worth selling and he clearly wants to stay.

Nolan: Ireland 4mil

Jonas: Bentley or SWP 6m

Jonas: Bentley or SWP 6m Far overpriced for the pair of them, especially Bentley. I'd rather Jonas, to be honest.
