Ayatollah Hermione 13873
Tell you what like, it's absolutely embarrassing how little the media know about our club. For them, I mean, from our standpoint, it's a good thing but I bet Ashley is pissing his sides when he gets told the crack every morning.
ewerk 30620
Well there is the fact that Man Utd's defenders won't be looking forward to playing him again, given that he absolutely singlehandedly mauled their centrehalves last season. The fuck you say?
PaddockLad 17281
either way makes you an utter shambles of a man in my eyes!! McFaul 35
Sniffer man, what an outlook on life you've got. You're like the anti CT. Sniffer is the clear and present Maud Grimes of Toontastic. West Yorkshire for you. If he won the lottery he'd moan about "all t'begging letters off people on t'dole". Cheer up.
Guest CabayeAye
FWIW, I like CT. He talks shite sometimes, but I would like to drink with him in a public house. Sniffler would also be a laugh, but only because we'd wind him up and try and get him to top himself for the lulz.

sniffer 0
The question I posed is a very reasonable one to ask given all the press Ba has had over the last six months or so. And the premium placed on consistent goalscorers. I have no problem with Ba staying. I do have a problem with his performances post-africa as I mentioned. I also think that Pardew has his work cut out to get Cisse and Ba to play effectively together and get Ba playing like he was pre-africa. I hope Pardew does it, and we have a pair of strikers who score 50- 60 goals between and have them tied down at the Toon for years to come. In my opinion, Pardew did not do this last season and Ba did not produce in the second half of the season.

Didn't quite agree with your Ba argument though, mate although I get the point I think you were making. Havent been on here for a while, but i'm pretty sure he was jumping onto anything said against Leazes and backing him up with weak arguments and lots of swear based insults. I could be wrong, but im pretty sure im not, thats why i called him Leaze's lapdog. If I am wrong, wow, big dogs cock, i called him Leazers lapdog, nowt to cry about eh? unless it strikes too close for comfort. Anyhooooo, anyone seen Debuchy in Asda yet? You still havent expanded your line of thinking any further than get rid/cash in/why keep him. Any chance you may find the time to educate me? no, but you can have my opinion... if I look at his age, injury situation, comparatively poor form post ACN and his and Cisses participation in it next January , likely tactical set up next season, possible reaction to playing second fiddle to Cisse, the transfer policy employed by the club and my own gut feeling, then for me its good business to sell this summer. And you'll notice I only chirped up about after his own private 7mill transfer windowhad closed, meaning we can name our price now and if we get a piss take offer we can say no. A lot of unknowns in there granted. But thats my opinion. As I said last night, this is how we compete on income with the likes of Spurs and Liverpool who it would seem are our main rivals at the moment. We have to make the most of what we have financially, regardless of who the player is. As for a replacement I'd suggest someone young and up coming because I think if we're going mostly with some form of 433 next season we have the players to do it effectively but sadly Ba didnt look like he was entirely comfortable in it. Now if you can be arsed to reply be nice. No good coming on here trying to belittle folk for having a different yet honestly held opinion, or you'll end up a pariah like Leazes. Not that you're like him in any way. No. Not at all.

A lot of unknowns in there granted. But thats my opinion. Ba has just turned 27. In his time with us he has shown absolutely no signs of having any injury issues. In theory he cost us nothing, in practise that figure is 3-4M. In practise then selling him for 7M would have turned a profit of 3-4 million, or slightly more than we got for Best who was frequently injured for us and is now injured and out for months. So for 3-4 we would need to replace a goal scorer with a proven record across multiple leagues and teams who put us in the position to kick on and have an excellent season in the first half of the year by scoring more than a dozen goals. JawD 99
When you look at the forwards that have been here and look at how many could actually put the ball on the net, you realise his value. Yes he dried up late season but he still offered a lot on the pitch. To have him and Cisse, well we've never had a good pair in a long time let alone one. We do need one more though. I don't think he will play all competitions and will need rested, as would Cisse. Would be mental to sell him after one season without seeing how he does second time around. Last season could have been a fluke or he could fill the role wider out better and grab as many
OTF 7295
He has a good scoring record across his relatively short career. He was more or less talked into being out of form in the latter part of the season. He does appear to have hot and cold periods though, early on here he looked very poor. Towards the end of the year he was very good at holding the ball up. Scoring wise he came close on a lot of occassions, the difference being good keeping or a few inches. The mounting pressure on him to score is where we saw some of his very few poor performances where he took the wrong option trying to score speculators from distance instead of making the pass. IMO certainly makes sense for us to keep him at least the rest of this season.

Any valid point you made immediately falls down when it's based on the premise that now his release clause has expired, someone is going to be willing to part with at least double what they could have signed him for a few days ago. Unless you agree with Brocks theory that the clause never existed, then the logic escapes me.

Unless you agree with Brocks theory that the clause never existed, then the logic escapes me. Yeah fair one, I felt that it had been reported so much and in so much detail there was more than an element of truth to it, and when asked the club didnt deny or confirm the clause exisited. On the old "balance of probability" I'd say it existed.
Howmanheyman 33246
Got to be pleased Demba's still here as I still think there's only so many good players we can get 'on the cheap' and £7M whilst a profit would have us in fingers crossed mode with his replacement. It's a shitter that we're without them again for their African cup and it's odds on they'll progress further than last time. Still need another striker though. We'll have to see whether any other club fancies paying Ashley's premium on any other of our top men.
