BigWalrus 0
Just read the article. The council are in the wrong here. They're within their rights to keep signs as they wish, but not to write to the media telling them not to use the new name. Whether we like it or not, it has f*ck all to do with the council. Kevin Carr's Gloves 3982
Seems strange the council didn't kick up this much fuss when Newcastle Brown Ale stopped being made anywhere near Newcastle.
Happy Face 29
Seems strange for the club to bring the Olympics into it when the official 2012 pitch was sold on the back of St James' Park, and the official site still refers to it as such.... http://www.london2012.com/st-james-park In this sense, the council are spot on to ask media outlets to refer to the ground using the same terms thousands of visitors to the region have had it sold to them, for an event which will bring in more commercial income for the club and the region than any Sports Direct name change. Monkeys Fist 43115
Did I read somewhere that all the SD signage in and on the ground will have to come down for the Olympics, or is that just wishful thinking on my part?
LoveTheBobby 1
It does aye . Grounds have to be 'neutral' in that respect . Changing rooms have to be altered too strangely !
Monkeys Fist 43115
I can see why the changing rooms need altering- the home dressing room is streets ahead of the away one in terms of size and facilities etc, ( least it was last time I did the tour), they'll need to be equalised. Happy Face 29
Have you seen the state of the covering over the Sports Direct signs outside the stadium? They've hoyed some old bed sheets over the fuckers. I thought there'd be some olympic rings stuck over them or summat. Dread to think what they've done to the roof. They've covered it in a black sheet apparently. Like a massive roll of duct tape.
Monkeys Fist 43115
I've just had an email from another company asking if I can supply a three man team to put up banners on SJP next week. Be ringing them today for details, but if it's covering over those fuck ugly SD sign I'll be doing it, even if it's shit money.

Monkeys Fist 43115
Wish I had mate. Would've been a relatively easy job rigging wise.
PaddockLad 17698
An old mate's comapany made the rings for the bridge, Signmaster of Kelso. Do you have contact with the makers of this stuff much?..
Monkeys Fist 43115
Not that much. We are usually the last link in the chain. Wouldn't do any harm to have a contact mind
