Can't see him entertaining the idea when he could join many of the second string of top flight cllubs, soem of those with European football.

I think it's mainly been off the bench but his goal scoring record at club level has been poor the last two seasons. Same as podolski, good at turning it on when playing for his Country in a couple of games. Coupled with high wages and the fact he his 33 next week I think its not a very viable option for NUFC.

I think he only scored 1 in 20 games last season, I'd rather stay well away

He might be useful for a team with realistic short term prospects of winning something, getting a spot in Europe etc. But what good to us? We are years away - if we ever get there at all - of being in that position. We need to look further ahead with our signings, take a few risks maybe.

Question is, could he play with Berbatov?

 

If Man Utd didn't have Owen he could probably do an off-the-bench cameo sort of job for them. He'd be handy to bring on late in a game to try to jag an equaliser or a winner. That's a luxury we can't afford!
