Nyff 0
Great to see that he seems to have a decent relationship with Tiote (and everyone else, for that matter).

Tooj 17
I thought he grew into the game as it went on yesterday. Probably sat a bit too deep to start off with, but as soon as Ben Arfa came on, he came to life. This is definitely the best central midfield we've had for a decade. Monroe Transfer 0
I thought he grew into the game as it went on yesterday. Probably sat a bit too deep to start off with, but as soon as Ben Arfa came on, he came to life. This is definitely the best central midfield we've had for a decade. Was also 2 CMs vs their 3, so Tiote and Cabaye didn't see too much of the ball. Like you said, when Ben Arfa came on it gave Tiote and Cabaye a bit more freedom to play higher up the pitch. Talking of Tiote; he lost the ball a surprising number of times yesterday, but his distribution is noticeably improving. He's also got a good shot on him as we know. edit; will be interesting to see what cards Pardew plays when either/both get injured/suspended, or when Tiote goes off to the ACN. Gosling, Guthrie, Abeid and Vuckic will need to prove themselves capable of at least providing semi-adequate cover when either or both of Tiote and Cabaye are away. Kid Dynamite 6973
Tiote was poor yesterday. A better team would have made us pay for him losing possession so many times

Not like, he was very poor until the last 10 minutes and he does give the ball away WAY too much for someone of his ability.

You could say he needlessly lost the ball on a few occations, but he also won a lot of challenges, did well with the short pass and battled in his usual way. If he was very poor, how do you rate the performances of Obertan and Best?

If he was very poor, how do you rate the performances of Obertan and Best? Also poor, but it's a question of performance level in relation to undoubted ability. Tiote could be immense (he shows flashes of it, sometimes puts a whole game together) as for winning challenges, that's his job. Giving the ball away. especially in the area of the field, he tends to do it, will cost us sometime if he keeps doing it. No-one is perfect and everyone is going to be tackled/dis-posessed at some time, but it's just much too regular an occurrence for someone of Tiote's ability. Happy Face 29
had to chuckle yesterday when people around me were saying Tiote is shit. Caught in possession a few too many times in a flooded midfield. Hardly any reason to clamour for Smith or Guthrie to replace him.
ChezGiven 0
If people are stupid they will call a player shit or not good enough when they see them making a mistake despite playing well. I suspect people who criticise players from their first mistake are not just stupid but wankers too.

He's nowhere near shit, he's very good, BUT he does get caught in possesion too much. If he could cut that out (or even reduce it) he'd move from very good to potentially great. T'is a small-ish quibble, but it is there all the same.
