StoneColdStephenIreland 74
It's amazing that their season has boiled down to finishing one point above a newly promoted team who stuffed them 5-1 took 4 points off them. What happened to the European aspirations?
snakehips 0
I'm boiling with rage Seething We should have finished above them The shame of it all How can we ever live this down It's not fair. Sunderland are always top dogs and we're always, er, underneath dogs I think I'll top myself, such is the pain I'm suffering. Or maybe I couldn't really give a shite, and have a mars bar instead. Happy Face 29
When did the mackem's last finish in the top half? Their best performance in a decade. Yet if we'd not conceded in the last minute they'd have been gutted. Edited May 23, 2011 by Happy Face
ChezGiven 0
There was nothing really between the 6 teams in our little league, certainly not enough to base any claims of superiority on. You need to look at the head to heads to judge which were the better sides.

Tom 14011
Clicky for the alternative premier league table. It doesn't necessarily do us any statistical favours but it is interesting to see the relative points gaps between teams. or Here for the Cann table + goal difference. Interesting that the teams on 47 and 48 points have an inferior goal difference to the three teams that finished on 46.
Tom 14011
Click here for where the money went! Sunderland may have finished an incredible 1 point ahead of us but we were paid over £2m more through TV payments.
Tom 14011
Scott Wilson and Luke Edwards have both tweeted that now - some journos fairly read this site.
McFaul 35
In all seriousness if we'd been a relatively stable club in the Premiership for the last 3 years having spent £70m on players, expecting to come top 10, absolutely delighted to come 1 point above a side who have endured their worst 3 years in two decades, who lost to the likes of Scunthorpe and Derby less than 18 months ago, I'd have to question my sanity. One fucking point and the best about it is, we've got better players than Sunderland. Been a great season for us, really, really good. Only Man Utd have scored more home goals. We've got more than world class sides like Chelsea, Arsenal and Man City, and if I had've choice between getting 46 or 47 points and I had to take 46 if it meant winning our derby 5-1, and it could've been 10, I think I'd have taken it. Fucking mackems You know how Newcastle-centric they are, if they got in the Champions League they'd be more bothered about goading us than actually celebrating it. I didn't even give Sunderland a second thought from 1990 to 1999.
TheMoog 0
Looks like Fat Sam's got the West Ham job, I actually feel even more sorry for the Hammers fans now - relegation and that prick in charge, could it get any worse for them?
