:D Must be from the generation before me those sayings.

Fukushima has nothing compared to the meltdowns people have had this week on toontastic like reading these threads. Threats, accusations of bullying, net fights, tears, drunken bile, it's like being in 6th form again.

It's a North Tyneside saying :D

"We've got Graham Carr, We've got Graham Carr,

when it comes to unearthing European players for moderate fees he's the best by far"

Granted, it needs a bit of work.

Good effort  I've had a gann.

We've got a scout called Graham Carr from Kent, from Kent

He's got a famous funny son, he's bent, he's bent

He found Tiote and Ben Ar

He's the first cunt at the bar

Newcastle's chief scout, Super Graham Carr

nanananannananannanaaaaa

Class chant about a scout haha, that would be great :D

Don’t think there's an English team using a chant for a scount?

Seeing as you responded to me directly I feel I had better give the courtesy of a reply.

Your opinion, in my opinion, appears to be whatever you read from the Chronicle or other NE news source. They print an article about a promising young player, and you start singing the praises of said player. An article about our chief player scout leads to you praising them. The club comes out about having to sell Carroll, you agree.

You seem to grab on to 'ideas' very quickly and assume that everything you read in the media is an indisputable fact, as a result your 'opinion' can change quite erractically. To save you time, before you go off on a fact finding mission I'm sure there will be isolated cases where it hasn't happened, so please don't bother.

Of course you haven't claimed to be an expert on football, noone here has done that. What you have done however is started threads on players abilities, such as the infamous 'Enrique on the wain' (sic) thread where you were left without a shred of dignity. That should have been the icing on the cake, but it wasn't. Instead you have continued to impart your knowledge of the game upon the rest of the forum by heaping criticism towards players like Jonas. I'm guessing somewhere along the line you picked up on the frustration that others felt towards some of the missed opportunities and poor final options that Jonas took after having got himself into good positions. You've taken this and run with it, to a point where you've used him as a scapegoat on numerous occasions. Eventually when others were commenting on how he's been one of our best players of late you've given up on that tune. Once that ship had sailed you've been bigging up players who you have seen very little of - Ferguson and Lua Lua being the two most prolific on that count. If you didn't feel you had some knowledge of the game you simply would not make such claims.

As for your quoting articles from the club and local media I really don't have a problem with that. It may be good for people who don't follow these sort of things through twitter feeds and the like. It would be nice for once if you posted something and either had a different opinion, or just left it be and let the article speak for itself.

I'll leave you with this saying; better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.

Wrong wrong and wrong again. Could form your own little team, Team Wrong.

Dont remember the chronny saying Enrique was on the wain. Dont remember the chronny slating Jonas. I started bigging up Shane Ferguson after the Chelsea game (last year) because "I" liked what "I" saw, coupled with "MY" dislike of Jonas. I've been anticipating good things from Graham Carr since a year gone April when I said "I hope he gets us a couple of good signings in the summer".....which he did. No press articles once again.

The club sells Andy Carrol and I agree do I? http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?...st&p=858332 Wrong, I said it was the totally wrong decision. I also said

a sickener, a negative for the squad and as Alex says, anyone and everyone would be vulnerable. Tiote in the summer
.

In the days and weeks that followed, I like the majority on here and fat fred accepted that it was a deal that was too good to turn down.

Moving on to Enrique, without re-living your pain (lost my dignity ffs :icon_lol: ) I still 100% stand by that opening post. http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?...st&p=863851. In hindsight he obviously wasnt a happy bunny and was planning / talking about his next move.

Jonas. I got my opinions on Jonas not from others, not from the chronny but from watching him play. (guess the same place you get yours). Jonas is like marmite and his recent surge in form (looking for a move?) only highlights how he has otherwise been. When you also talk about others praising him lately, you may have missed.

Credit to Pardew as well. Looked as though he was running the technical area well, gestating at the ref for decisions etc and would like to think that its his influence starting to tease the best out of Jonas.

followed by

Thought Jonas had a really good game and was probably the only one that I would say earned his corn today. Not sure what has happened to Jonas of late but he definitely seems to be getting better and trying to be more direct.

followed by

Do we now cash in on Jonas or due to his recent improvement, stick him out on the right and bring Barton into the middle with Tiote.

So in conclusion, those "others" you refer to commenting on how good he's being of late were actually me. Captain Wrong strikes again. (Still unsure whether to keep or cash in btw).

Finally, thank fuck, onto Lua Lua. Again its quite well documented on here that I have been a fan of LuaLua for a long time. Even you and I agreed about his prospects back in 2009 :Dhttp://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?...&pid=665839

I did say again, back in January that I hoped he would get a run in the first team as soon as he had recovered....and guess what :D Once again I was right, my opinion was right and my Newcastle football knowledge was right. :icon_lol:

Having battered away every one of your little girl spats with facts I will also add that this is my final word on this spat and I'll derail this lovely thread no longer.

As a courtesy I will leave you with this say...."Dont bring a knife to a Gunfight". :icon_lol:

The writing is on the wall and is plain to see, however you want to try to reinvent it it won't change.

I honestly don't care, I've spoken out in the past to try to help you because for the most part your heart is in the right place, but like a child you can't take anything on board. That's it for me, no malice or ill-feeling.

No idea who is out there and who we should get, but just wondering (having had Carroll for half a season), whether peoples preferences are for another big man or a pacey small man like Bellamy.

With the sorts of player we will have and Pardews assertions as to the exciting type of player he wants to get in, will we be wanting Barton to hit it long for a big man to bring down and hold up or for on the ground passing attack. I seem to remember Bellamy often screaming in on goal having slipped the offside trap virtually on the half way line.

Im also taking into account that we may have one out and out striker in the team, given the likes of Ben Arfa etc etc.

Think I lean more towards a big bloke given the crossing abilities we will have available as long as he have other pacy players in the team.

We should get both, One bigg'un and one littl'un, Ben Arfa isnt going to be fit in all our games next season and we need a plan B instead of sticking with a Plan A, as our only Plan B seems to be this season is bring Ranger on for 20 minutes at the end of games.

I'd be disappointed if we only get one striker, we need at least two and good ones aswell

I think we will end up with a foreign striker who will turn out to be sensational (Graham Carr).

A bit like when Liverpool replaced Rush with Aldridge, we will laugh our little fat chops off next season as Carroll fails and warms the bench while striker Tiote 2 takes the premiership by storm.

Why is Graham Carr getting lots of props atm?

But seriously......

“When I was at Tottenham I worked under David Pleat and he was full of good football knowledge and little sayings. I remember him saying to me ‘Never waste a flight,’ and that has stuck with me.”

“So I go to a country and I’ll watch two or three games if I can. Last weekend I was in Lille, this weekend I’m going over to Germany to watch two games. You have to put that leg work in and get out to games – being passed a DVD of someone just isn’t the same.”

“And 90% of the players that agents pitch to you just aren’t up to it.” “So my passport is pretty well thumbed, but I love my job. My dad played for Newcastle United and I’ve always wanted to be here – now I am I’m desperate to help bring some success back to the club because it deserves it.”

“We are looking at a lot of players. We have teams of players that we’re looking at lined up in 4-4-2 formations because we want to have someone in every position,” “I think we need half a dozen players in summer, to be honest.”

“That is a personal opinion, mind, but that is what I’m working towards – having options to put before the manager when the season is over.” “And we won’t just watch a player once. With someone like Cheick, it was the result of four years watching him.”

“I’d first seen him playing for Roda against Arsenal in 2006 – they were hammered 4-0 I think, but you could tell he was going to be a good player. He never stopped running.” “So you keep an eye on him and track his progress, which is where we are with plenty of other players.”

“People will all look at Arsene Wenger and say he’s got the French market covered, but we’ve got a good handle on it, believe me. The same is true of other countries too.” “You know you’re not on your own – you know there is competition out there from other English clubs and you have to be realistic – you can’t keep everything you’re doing off the radar.

“A player that I was watching last weekend we’ve been watching for months, yet suddenly there were six scouts there from English clubs, all probably watching the same player.” “The key is to react quickly – that is what will get us our targets. That and the fact that Newcastle United is a big, big draw overseas.”

The guys working his nuts off so we'll see what happens in the summer. Not to say the powers that be will automatically take his recommendations, however if he did introduce Tiote to the board (I know KK gets a few mentions for that on here), then Im sure Ashley will fully back the man.

You reckon he's talking about gervinho here?

Im sure that everyone is watching the known good players and where a scout should probably earn his corn is finding the ones who are about to have that great season.

You can tell by all the press reports that we are heading into mad speculation season.

Be interesting to know if anyone on here has ever predicted a signing for us.

BTW if MA is dead set on signing a championship striker on the cheap we could do a lot worse than Danny Graham. Top scorer in the championship this season and he's from Gateshead.

Came through boro's academy didn't he? I know when he didn't make the first team there he went to Carlisle where he found his feet. I haven't seen a lot of him, but is there a chance he's like Chopra; ie good at Championship level but not quite up to it in the PL?

NEWCASTLE look set to beat Sunderland and Everton in the race to sign wantaway West Ham striker Demba Ba.

Ba, 26, is ready to quit Upton Park on a free after the Hammers' relegation to the Championship.

And his availability has sparked a scramble for his signature among Premier League clubs.

But Newcastle, still seeking a replacement for Andy Carroll, head the chasing pack for the Sengalese star who hit seven goals for West Ham since joining from Hoffenheim in January.

Toon boss Alan Pardew will be able to dwarf any West Ham terms and offer top-flight football.

I realise these rumours must be taken with a pinch of salt, main thing that intrigued me was 'on a free'.

I'm sure he joined them for around 6mil in Jan, anyone know if he had a relegation release clause or something? Poor journalism? My poor memory?

Would be great on a free like.

Relegation release clause i think. Id take him. Better than Strola, Best, Ranger and Lovenkrands.
