Considering Movement was basically Joy Divisions next release but with vocals by Hooky and Bernie, it was obvious they were moving to a more keyboard/electronic sound.

Would they have written and recorded Blue Monday or Bizarre Love Triangle probably not but Barney's gay songwriting would never have come to the fore if Curtis was still the main songwriting influence.

I like a bit of Joy Division like. I actually prefer New Order though.

Had a listen to their BBC Sessions earlier on today.

 

Lovely stuff.

 

Interestingly the Peel sessions version of LWTUA is about 10 BPM faster than the studio version which makes it more popular for the dance floor.

Just reminded me that 808 State's Contrique, which samples She's Lost Control, is class.
