Christmas Tree 4711
To be honest i'll not be stopping to applaud, Its the worst home record I can remember since having my season ticket (8 Years) They should applaud me for having to watch dross most weeks. A lap of honour for not being relegated, the irony..... Leazes could have a field day with this thread Fucking beggars belief When was the last time you were privileged to be in St James whe we stuffedour local rivals 5-1 ? How long before it happens again? The infamous chicken dance? Come back from 4-0 against Arsenal with 30 minutes to go ? Tiotes volley? Give your head a shake !!!! Give over CT, you're either stupid or just winding him up. Two games don't make a season, in fact 2 games are nothing, however spectacular they may be. The season is 38 games, and there are 2 domestic cup competitions on top of that. Don't be a daft old git! When I'm on my deathbed I will still remember Alberts chip and the other 5 goals but I won't be able to recall what season it was or what else happened. Likewise Nolans overhead kick and Tiotes volley. They are the moments football is all about. 4 goals. Was a televised match as well, wasn't it? Funny that. Hey ho, pub night typo I'm sure you still understand the point though Freddy.

JaMoUsE 0
Christmas Tree, Its uncanny how much you remind me of my lass's dad. He tries to talk to me about football but knows nowt about it. he watches motd on a saturday night, doesnt bother with sky, streams to watch live football on the net and wouldnt be bothered to listen to the radio. But out of courtesy I humour him as he tells me how poor Newcastle were in the cup when they got beat by Championship Stevenage. Infact that isnt you, is it Brian?!? Christmas Tree 4711
Pardew sees top-10 with West Brom victory ALAN PARDEW is hoping that his “little group” of Newcastle United players get the conclusion their season deserves at St James’ Park. Despite the fact that United are decimated by injuries – with up to 10 first-team players on the treatment table going into the last game – an eighth-placed finish is still up for grabs if they can beat West Bromwich Albion. United will look to show their appreciation to the Toon Army on Sunday, with Pardew eyeing the three points that will ensure they finish ahead of arch-rivals Sunderland. Pardew told the Chronicle: “It’s there for us. “One win and we could be in the top 10. “Hopefully we can get the place revved up to see out the season. “It’s the end of what has been a magnificent season from my point of view. “I will be talking to people this week and making sure we can get a full house to see the season out in real style.” Pardew was proud of his players after the draw with Chelsea, with youngsters like Sammy Ameobi, Kazenga LuaLua and Shane Ferguson all playing their part for the injury-ravaged United. And Pardew is hoping that they all get their chance to experience the passion of the Geordie fans on Sunday. He said: “Whatever their views are of what’s gone on in the past, for this game it is a chance to say ‘well done’ to this little group of players. “That would be great because they have been outstanding in the last few weeks.”
NJS 4375
“It’s the end of what has been a magnificent season from my point of view." I'm quite ambivalent towards Pardew in general but that is fucking laughable.

Christmas Tree 4711
True Faiths latest editorial. (Very upbeat for them). Being the eternal doubting Thomas, I must confess to watching our game at Chelsea through my fingers and my pessimism seemed justified when after two minutes, Stamford Bridge was up celebrating a goal from the home side and my mind began flicking through the memory box for hidings we have taken down in West London. But that pessimism was exploded by a great team performance which just had “heart and soul” written right through it. I was proud of our lads at Chelsea but when the Rent Boys took the lead in the last ten minutes, I imagined our resistance was at an end and we’d leave the capital with our grit unrewarded. Wrong. Its says everything about the fighting spirit of our team they should keep going and get an equaliser in the 93rd minute. Many is the team that would have chucked it and had their eye on the tunnel and waited for the ref’s final whistle. The likes of Owen, Martins, Duff, Viduka would have been off with tweaks well before Steven Taylor gloriously put the ball in the back of the Rent Boy net. We kept going and we got a spectacular equaliser every single Mag in the away end thoroughly deserved, not only for excellent non-stop support throughout but for somehow managing to find the scandalous £50 a ticket too. You just have to pay tribute to the young lads coming into the side in the teeth of an injury crisis bringing down an already wafer thin squad. Their bottle had every Mag in full appreciation. The spirit at United obviously permeates every level of the club. This is a great pointer for the future. This spirit is what Newcastle United is all about. Heart And Soul! They won that point without any help whatsoever from the Ref, who in what is now the tradition of the PL, gave the so-called “big club” (fuck off man) all the decisions. If Chelsea had received two red cards, they couldn’t really have complained. Newcastle-United-Will-Never-Be-Defeated! * The point won at Stamford Bridge puts us on 45 points and on Sunday night we are in 12th position with one home game remaining and the very real possibility of finishing in the top ten of the PL. That would be a fantastic achievement for United and set us up for the summer in good heart. Our final game of the season is against West Brom, who have undergone a renaissance under Roy Hodgson but I hope SJP is packed to the gills and in noisy, beery mood to get the lads over the line with a win. Shit, I even think they deserve a lap of honour, man! We may have seen better teams and enjoyed the skills of better players but I can’t remember when we’ve had a “better group of lads” © than this crop in almost forty years following The Toon. The lads deserve our support next week and its down to us to show our appreciation of what has, after everything, been a rewarding and dare I say it, even an enjoyable campaign. I’m not the only one buzzing off my tits at this great result and now I’m sure, I’m not alone in wanting next Sunday to come along and for the boys to go out on a high. Come on United! Have a great week. Keep On, Keepin’ On … Aye.
Guest alex
Even if we lose we'll actually have been miles away from going down (even if it doesn't quite appear that way in the history books) so on that basis alone the lads deserve enormous credit. I think a few things make you decide whether you stay and applaud or not. The result on the day is a bit of a factor but the main two are: how has the team done (obviously this is relative to expectations and they've exceeded them for most) and how much effort have the players put in (can't fault them on that score either). A lot is made of us lot turning our back on SBR and being ungrateful bastards at the end of the 03/04 season but in reality it was a relatively disappointing season and a canny few of the players had started to take the piss out of Robson and, by extension, the fans. It's become a stick with which to beat us but I think that's been forgotten in all of that.
