Certainly highlighted the fact that Simpson is shit, Enriques heads gone and we have fuck all options on the bench as well as nowt upfront. That summed up our season though really. First, take off one of the best performers off the pitch. 2nd, take off Løvenkrands, whose runs have been threatening all game, let Shola stay on ofcourse even if he is putting on his laziest performance yet. Then the main ingredient, alan fucking Smithfuck. Best on too, put himself about a fair bit but still, Guthrie was having a decent game and there was no need for all this juggling around. I have to question Pardoo's inclusion of Smith & Best who had not played for some time. That result was heart-breaking but hey, the rollercoaster ride is over for this season. The fact that it was so close shows it could have been much worse and that we could struggle next season without proper investment in the playing staff. Still, considering everything that's gone on this season from the pointless sacking of hughton to selling carroll without replacing him and making profits on players, it's a pretty good effort. Deano 0 Posted May 22, 2011 Share Posted May 22, 2011 Puttin the season into perspective though....finished in 12th on 46 points. 16 points behind Spurs in 5th. Thats 5 wins and a draw. Ok so... Game today we should of won (Late Goal/Total collapse) 2 Stoke away we should of got at least a point. 1 Everton at Home we should of won. 3 Blackburn away we should of won. 2 Spurs at home we should of won (Late goal). 2 Mackems away we should of won (Late goal). 2 Bolton away we should of got at least a point. 1 Fulham at home we should of won. 2 Blackburn at home we should of won. 3 There is just a handfull of games we should of won or at least drawn. 16 points from teams we should be getting results against. That there is how we need to improve next season. It was partly down to having no quality upfront after AC but also the inability to hold onto a lead, concentrate and see games out.
