KeithJ 0
I thought our young players gave a really good account for themselves in this game. Ferguson looked very good and seems to be growing in experience. Sammi Ameobi looks extremely quick. The way he could eat up the ground was nothing short of impressive. If he fills out like his brother then his challenge against Essien towards the end could have been a different story. Lualua looked as if he was going to be quiet when he first come on however he came alive for that good cross at the end. A lot of the Brighton fans have been raving about this kid and I think he has ability. I remember watching him ghost past players quite a number of times in the reserves. Krul, his poor decision cost him however it's a young goalkeeping mistake which the young arsenal goalkeeper made against is. I don't think he is first choice yet. Maybe it's time to have a look at FF when he comes back! Would defo like to see more of Ameobi junior!
Kevin S. Assilleekunt 1
They looked decent against a Chelsea side that wasn't as competitive as in other circumstances. I'd like to see them do it at Stoke on a cold Wednesday morning.

Credit where credit it due we gave a decent account of ourselves and nice assist from Ranger. If only we can keep Enrique and Tiote plus Ashley spends some money we should be ok next season. Nyff 0
I said it in the match thread (albeit to point out a reason we were 2-1 down), but they were particularly impressive in terms of that we brought on LuaLua, Sammy Am and Ranger when Chelsea brought on Essien, Malouda and Drogba. Besty 4
That's Nolan, Tiote, etc being sold. Next seasons starting line up now includes Sammy Ameobi, Kazenga and Fergie.

Christmas Tree 4856
Most of us would have taken 1-1 away at Chelsea with our full strength team out. Well done the young'uns.
Howay 12496
They done well, however competitive or uncompetitive you think Chelsea were they still done well. Ivanovich didn't want to be skinned by Lua Lua on the edge of his box competitive or not so it was impressive. All looked raw (obviously) but all played with a high energy and looked like they wanted to be there as well as seeming confident of their abilities on the ball. It's not easy coming on and going a goal down shortly after away from home. Edited May 15, 2011 by Barton7
CleeToonFan 1
One mistake by Krul... that's less than Harper over the season... I still like him and want him starting next season, over Harper or Fraser "Doing half decent against the Scottish league" Forster
Nyff 0
I think "Kids vrs Chelsea" is more in terms of "How the kids did vrs Chelsea" rather than saying it was the youth that got us the 2-2 draw.

Irrelevant Nick KP 0
Let's not forget Ranger. He came on and had an assist. I've been very critical of him, but fair play to the man.
The Fish 10972
I'm hoping we play the strongest team we can against West Brom, but I'd like to see Ferguson again and maybe give Lua Lua longer too. I don't we can underestimate the value (both financially and pyschologically) of finishing in the top half. We put a few goals past West Brom and bring them on. I'd like to see them get at least 30 minutes.

In your opinion Harpers finished man. All he does is stand on the line. He never comes out to try and own the whole box and is about as agile as a dairy cow in wellies. Krul for me next season with Foster as back up.

Craig 6700
Krul hasn't endeared me with his performances like... I'd send him out on loan next season, have Forster back as initial backup to Harper and draft him in for a few games into the season - see what he does. Personally think he's a much better keeper, and don't see the point in keeping onto an old, past it keeper who was never great at the best of times

Would Harper have done that? Forster punches too much for my liking too, from what I've seen of him mind.
CleeToonFan 1
No, but like I said, he's not a perfect package yet... however would Harper standing on his line have done better in that situation? When Alex was always gonna be the first to the ball? Narh, that woulda gone in anyway, at least Krul tries putting his body in front of the ball, and looks like he cares Edited May 15, 2011 by CleeToonFan

I'm not saying a keeper should never come off his line btw, more that there is a time & place for it, and if you do it you MUST make it to the ball. Pardoo acknowledged that it was a individual error on Krul's part in his post-match interview.
