Think it was the step daughter (adopted by Mia Farrow) iirc.

What was the name again...Ho chi Minge I think.

Nope, they were never Married.

Aye, it's not as dodgy as it's sometimes made out. Still fucking dodgy like.

As someone mentioned, Orwell wrote more than one good book. 'Down and out in Paris and London' and 'Homage to Catalonia' are both brilliant. I also love 'Coming up for air' and 'Keep the aspidistra flying', he seems to have a real understanding of human nature.

I think I read somewhere that he was once taught by Huxley but that he was more influenced by Zamatin 'We' (which I found hard work') than BNW.

I just can't get into Huxley's stuff as easily as I can Orwell's.

I concur. The Road to Wigan Pier too. Not read any of his stuff for a long time like.

Not read Huxley's stuff but I've read Animal Farm and 1984, and they are both good. Animal Farm is a very good critique on Stalinism, and it caused a right rumpus when it was published because he was a leftie who dared point out the Soviets were as bad as the Nazis.
