Smooth Operator 10
I dont normally comment on the deaths of most of those we create threads for but this man was a legend. One where the word legend doesn't actually cover how big he was in the world of golf, was it not for him and his achievements the European tour as it is today wouldn't exist and the European Ryder Cup victories wouldn't be what they are today. RIP Seve.
Dolly Potter MD 0
An uncoachable genius at the height of his powers. His game was all about feel & creative shot management. Buggered things up by tinkering with his swing, by adopting a more orthodox or so-called coached swing. He tried to transform himself into a regimented ballstriker. Holden McGroin 6785
An actual true legend. Regardless if you liked golf or not his name was famous worldwide back in the 80s.
Dolly Potter MD 0
An actual true legend. Regardless if you liked golf or not his name was famous worldwide back in the 80s. ............ and one of the most interesting sporting figures of the century. One part a raw & largely uncoached and uncoachable genius/talent, one part charismatic, and another being the volatile side of his on-course demeanor. Not many other sportsmen & women made for essential & captivating viewing. His eventual downward spiral [as a golfer, and later his health] is in dramatic contrast to the magic he supplied in abundance to sport in general.
