luckyluke 2
Well Ted Lowe has definitely died so he should be in the thread title! I first got into snooker seeing Jimmy's perennial struggles against Hendry with Lowe growling behind the microphone, just before he retired in 1996. Watched that documentary earlier about the famous '85 final and although I obviously didn't watch it (or if I did, I have no memory as I was about four months old!) the atmosphere still seems electric 26 years later. The closest snooker has got to obtaining another iconic voice is John "WHERE'S THE CUEBALL GOING?!!" Virgo which shows how irreplaceable he was, Rest In Peace. PaddockLad 17942
RIP Henry Same age as my old man, who was at Wembley to see him fight Clay...still got the other coffin dodger with us though Slight for a heavyweight, even then, and cut very easily. But the Daily Mail article nails it, no other boxer has been as popular and he's our only boxing knight...doubt if we'll have another one
