ALAN PARDEW feels the positive energy served up by the Toon Army against Manchester United played a huge part in denying the title chasers victory on Tyneside.

Pardew stopped and applauded all four sides of the ground towards the end of the 0-0 stalemate to show his appreciation.

He said: “The stadium kept us alive, really. It kept our energy levels up.

“It was frustrating towards the end because we were running out of legs and I feared for us in that period.

“The start of the game was what we are about, and not getting the goal in that period could be costly, I thought.

“I thought we were the better side.

“It was a fantastic effort in terms of commitment, attitude and workrate, summed up by Peter Lovenkrands, who I thought was outstanding.

Positive?

Booing, waving money at the greedy twat and ripping the piss out of their cup defeat?

Atmosphere was brilliant though.
