aimaad22 4222
No Tiote? Not sure about that myself but we'd be a lot more dynamic with Anita and Sissoko sitting in midfield of 5. Doesnt matter because Sissoko is going to be a right winger again this season.
ohhh_yeah 2991
Youth coming through init. What is his average of tackles per match after the squad has lost possession? Reaction time after he has picked out the wrong pass?
trooper 940
Hatem Ben Arfa’s Adviser, Michael Ouazine; “It is incomprehensible. We do not know what the problem is, in the past Pardew has said that Hatem was extraordinary. “We are now in a situation where there does not seem to be a solution. Hatem simply does his job and trains well, he is enjoying training with the reserves where he has a great coach in Peter Beardsley. “It is harassment, humiliation (referring to 10,000 Euros fine for HBA coming back allegedly 1.5 kilos overweight), we will challenge that fine. “We asked them (Newcastle United) to give us all the players’ physical records. Hatem went on holiday with a personal trainer, he worked to prepare for the season. 1.5 kilos? Yes, but it is a poud of muscle and 500 grammes of fat. He lost 2% of body fat and so we challenge this fine.” Jean-Jacques Bertrand (French lawyer specialising in Sports Law); “There are two things. The principle of the punishment and the scale of it. “What procedure was followed? If we were dealing with a situation that clearly impacts on performance, and it was certified that he was the only one overweight…I do not imagine for one second though that upon returning from leave, out of 25 players only 1 is overweight – and we talk about 1.5kg, not 5kg. “The nature of the fine for me is abusive, but in addition, the fine is part of a broader context of successive measure to harass the player. “We have learned the homeowner has not received rent for three months. So we checked his payslips to check that there was always the rent deducted from his salary. The club has now paid the owner the rent collected from the player’s salary.” Hatem’s advisor Michale Ouazine again; “Hatem is able to go after his contract ends; 6 months, a year, that’s not a problem. “In two months Pardew may be far away (from Newcastle United). Hatem loves this club and he is idolised by the fans. “Hatem can only stay professional, when the events are beyond his control and not his doing. “The elements are unfavourable at the moment, there is no dialogue, no talking to him. You saw how they treated Marveaux… Lyon is his first club…but it is very difficult financially because Newcastle want a lot (of cash).”

Rayvin 5296
Being honest, we do seem to do this with players when we want to move them on. God knows why though, what harm does it do if we have players challenging to get into the first team and strength in depth. We're going to get fuck all for him anyway is this keeps up. What did happen to Marveaux anyway?
trooper 940
What did happen to Marveaux anyway? Similar thing as Ben Arfur made to train with the reserves he's now gone out on a 12 month loan to Guingcamp.
Holden McGroin 6783
Who really knows what goes on behind closed doors so taking sides is pretty naive. Still, im in the the pro-Ben Arfa camp. The guy has talent. Edited July 31, 2014 by Holden McGroin
ewerk 31202
The whole thing does seem entirely ridiculous, the player clearly knows that the club don't want him, to start levying weight fines and not paying his rent is just petty and more likely to see him digging his heels in. If the lad has come back fitter than last season, which judging by the photos he has done, and is prepared to graft then he deserves as much of a shot at the first team as anyone else. It does seem though that there's more to this than meets the eye.
Tom 14013
He's definitely kicked off at Pardew a couple of times but the way the club are treating him I'm inclined to think the stories of him chinning Pardew are true.
ohhh_yeah 2991
Wonder how much Rooney's weight has fluctuated over the years. Hypothetically if Happy Face made a graph I am positive it would look like a mountain range. The amount of weight in question is not even that much if you think about it. I want to see Hatem on the pitch. I am not bothered about his defensive work rate. I am more worried about the lack of a signing of a quality forward. Not taking any future transfers in mind, I would salivate at a midfield five like this. Tiote Sissoko Ben Afra de Jong Cabella Edited July 31, 2014 by ohhh_yeah

Tiote Sissoko Cabella de Jong Ben Arfa There should be more than enough defensive graft from Tiote and Sissoko to cover any lack of it in HBA, and it would scare the shit out of most defences but we'll never see that line up as long as fatty and Pardew are here. Agree. We'd be like a Chelsea-lite, but without the good defense. To be honest, it's a crying shame they won't try to make this work with Ben Arfa. It's like we resist the urge to actually move forward, we have to absolutely stand still.

Dr Gloom 22149
Surely it's in everyone's interests to bury the hatchet, get him in the match day squad again instead of sticking him in with the stiffs. It's petty and way too punitive. What good will it do? He can do a job this season as part of that midfield outlined on the previous page or at the very least put himself in the shop window if the club have given up on him.
