Hatem "Number 26" Ben Arfa

Strange that nearly every manager Ben Arfa has had would disagree with that. But sure what would they know?

some managers would rather have an honest grafter in there like gouffran.

others are braver and will unleash natural talent, flaws and all.

He's started 2 games

oh, and one in the cup...which he scored in.

Two games in which he was hauled off because he clearly wasn't fit or wasn't doing a job for the team.

The fanboydom regarding this tub of lard is ridiculous.

Aye the excuses that everyone is prepared to make. Seems the whole world is against this misunderstood kid, when if they just gave him a chance, he could win them the league.

Or he's just a fucking dickhead who doesn't deserve anything like this level of slavver.

Only seen the league stats but he's got one shot on target, no goals and no assists from 150-odd minutes of game time. I'm a fan of his but he clearly isn't doing the business (for whatever reason) so far this season. If he's not contributing much in an attacking sense then, inevitably, his lack of defensive work becomes a bigger issue than it would otherwise. It's a bit fucking simplistic to argue it's his coach's fault just because he's questioned his work rate. For what it's worth I'd like to see him do well there. He's pissed off just about every manager he's ever worked for though.

he's clearly a lazy twat. typical frenchie, but just look at what he did last season when he had a coach who realised he was the most talented player at the club. he unleashed him and he was one of the players of the season in the division.

i honestly still think there's room for a creative (but lazy) genius in the modern game.

a manager like keegan would get the best out of him.

Think my answer to that's covered in the post I made after the one you quoted tbh.

Edit: I'd also add to that that he's started four out of their six league games so it's not like he's only been hoyed on in the last 10 minutes every week.

Which all suggests there's a bit more to it. I was thinking along similar lines re: them having plenty flair players. I think sammynb probably summed it up nicely. Also, it's not like things are black and white. You can ask a player to do a bit more defensively without asking him to just protect his fullback at all costs or whatever.

Aye course he is, he's obviously best off at a club like Nice who will let him do whatever he wants, but who at PSG didn't know that when they signed him? What version of Hatem Ben Arfa did they think they were buying?

Why buy something you know doesn't work then moan that it doesn't work?

No manager expects players like Robert,HBA and Ginola to chase back to protect the back 4 for long periods ffs!!!!. Messi gets back to make a nuisance of himself and help retrieve the ball. It's all well and good showing excellent skills when you have the ball but fucking about when you have to defend has never went down well with managers who have won things. What medals do the three mentioned above have to show for being skillful and shirking their defensive responsabilities.

You are all haters!  I hate you all! :angry2:

He did more for us than any player in ages.  It is no coincidence, imo, that since he left, the club started it's quick decent to the bottom! I could care less what he is or not doing somewhere else today.

You need more, or less, of whatever the fuck you're on tbh.

He's only got himself to blame like. Worked hard at Nice to get his move to a huge club and when it's got a bit tough he's shown that he's mentally not up to it.

By worked hard, do you mean he actually added that grafting defensive side to his game? I'm only going off his stats but it's hard to imagine he did. I don't watch much French football but, knowing the player and his history, I suspect he had a coach who just allowed him to play to his natural, attacking game.

Which he could probably get away with against most teams in the French league. He's at a club now that is playing against the cream of the crop in the Champions League
