Not sure if this has being covered anywhere, but apparently she was in a serious car crash this week and has internal bleeding and he is now keeping a bedside vigil.

Just what the daughters told me. :icon_lol:

It's been in the papers, not read the actual article but from what others have commented the injuries are being vastly over egged by the media (shock).

The girlfriend of a Premiership football star has been seriously injured in a car crash when the vehicle hit a tree.

Jessica Lawlor, 25, who has a two-year-old son with Stephen Ireland, suffered internal bleeding and a broken ankle in the accident.

Ireland, who was not with her at the time of the smash, was said to be 'devastated' and has been keeping a vigil at her hospital bedside.

Miss Lawlor had been returning home from a night out with a friend last weekend when the car left the road and hit a tree.

Emergency services rushed her to hospital, where doctors treated her for two days before discharging her to the couple's home in Prestbury, Cheshire.

But on Wednesday she took a turn for the worse and was re-admitted with suspected internal bleeding.

The couple's spokesman told the Sun: 'It was a pretty bad smash and Jessica has got a lot of internal swelling and a cracked ankle.

'She has had a series of scans to check for internal bleeding and possible organ damage. Stephen is devastated but, at the same time, grateful it wasn't worse.'

Ireland, who is on loan to Newcastle from Aston Villa, had been due to make his debut for the club against Manchester United next week.

Although he has been with the club for more than three months, a series of injuries has so far prevented him for playing.

Aye, sounds ok
