trophyshy 7084
I blame the Sky TV cameras for being right in his face to be honest. Well said, ban the cameras, problem solved.
TicTacWoe 0
Can't believe the fuss over this issue, it's just a harmless word. Rooney's done a lot worse than this in terms of setting bad examples, not that I think we should expect him to do otherwise anyway.
McFaul 35
Telling a ref to fuck off is a total fucking disgrace like. Why do it in 5-a-side? It means fuck all, if you're that bothered about some shit 5-a-side league then don't abuse the ref, one day they'll have enough abuse and then they will be no one there to ref your game. It is pretty easy for me though, I play rugby. You're brought up with these crazy rules where you're not allowed to shout abuse at refs. If you played at the JJB you'd understand, about this curly haired twat we used to get every week. Reading books during the game man 4fs. Fuck off surfer dude was said by me every game. They're not bothered anyway £35 for 3 hours graft.
Tom 14013
Rooney may well be a spoilt arsehole but that's got fuck all to do with this. Whether or not he visits drug addled tuppenny whores and "romps" until the cows come home is really Colleen's business not ours; I draw the line at things which hurt the general public - like intimidation, assault and battery, racism, sexual assault etc - but I don't agree with demanding they act like robots. Apart from Shola who has been programmed to score against Sunderland.
DEADMAN 0
but the problem is with rooney he has such a short temper and swearing in the camera when loads of kids will be watching in unacceptable hes an idiot just like when he elbowed that other player recently and got away with it. so in my opinion he deserved a ban
luckyluke 2
All this rubbish in the last few posts "He's got fuck all to do with this" "don't expect players to act like robots" "what do you expect him to do" He's paid an absolute cunting fortune to play a game ffs, he's got near enough no responsibility as it is, is it too much to ask for him to set anything remotely resembling a good example (or at least, not a bad one) to the millions of people (including children) who see him as a role model, without who he'd be nobody? The game has always had bad boys and always will. But you can't let them get away with this sort of stuff.
Dolly Potter MD 0
Football has become over sanitised, thanks to the efforts of the Political Correctness Police out there. Administrators react to public outcry, and legislate accordingly. It's a shame. Football is an emotional game, and emotions naturally boil over in the heat of the moment on the players' part, and the outlet happens to be the 'f-bomb' etc. Mountain being made out of a mole hill springs to mind here, much like when Bellamy was 'caught out' on live television after dropping a couple of bombs when he was substituted by Souness. Of course many a supporter/fans cried out that the said player had embarassed the club etc. Kids hear much worse in the school playgrounds. The advances made in live coverage [via technology] have encroached into the players' domain. That domain being the heat of battle out on the paddock, and many believe that they should behave like saints accordingly. Football watchers can't have it all their own way, they expect to be right there in the guts of the game [as close as possible] yet they complain when things get a little too close [or heated] for comfort. luckyluke 2
Mountain being made out of a mole hill springs to mind here Tbf if there wasn't such outcry from people about Rooney being punished then it wouldn't be such a fuss. If it was Nobby Nobody from Birmingham who did it, he'd get his ban, accept it then it'd be forgotten about in a week and we wouldn't be having this bloody argument. LoveTheBobby 1
I'm far from prudish but I've gotta throw my hat on the side of "it just isn't cricket" . More from the point of view of the erosional implications if that kind of carry on was considered acceptable. I don't go along with' the lad was under pressure' either. Malc Mac gave a good analogy last night when he said "bobby combover didn't do that" . Obviously its different in the proximity/number of cameras but these clowns get media training from the off and are more than aware of the score. With Shrek it pretty much boils down to him being faulty. Really faulty. Without football he'd be in the nick.
McFaul 35
Heard from a very reliable source Rooney's ban has been increased to THREE games. Unconfirmed like, but I think that means he's missing against us.
