Aye, the downgrade in economic growth forecasts for the next couple of years really filled me with confidence.

Renton 22409
Fuel stabiliser sounds like a good idea. However, the downgrade to growth predictions cancels out anything really good in this budget, and I suspect they're still being far too optimistic. Also it doesn't matter what Gideon Osbourne does, he will always come across as a smarmy cunt, which he is of course. He literally makes my skin creep. What Im on about is that low corporation tax encourages foreign firms to set up here rather than elsewhere (like your Nissans etc). More firms, more jobs. Some have said that deregulation was a contributing factor in the current financial crisis. Those 150% mortgages at 5 times salary weren't ever going to be paid back, but deregulation meant they were pushed on the public with gusto. The tax reduction isn't bad for British business but will make no difference to the big boys thanks to a change your mates have alreasy made. Previously if a notionally UK firm like Barclays brought money from abroad from a country with a lower corporation tax rate than the UK they had to pay the difference to make it up to the full UK figure. Osborne changed this, handing further millions "back" to them in tax they won't have to pay so excuse me while I sneer when the shitbag talks about "tackling tax aviodance". Phil 6
I was glad to see the promise of a 10k tax allowance is still being keep. There were also lots of small steps to get rid of red (ironic) tape Was anyone else miffed at hearing several Labour MPs harping on about VAT rise. The cheeky feckers. JawD 99
I'm fairly neutral to the budget. Personally around £350 a year better off (using thath somewhat vulgar calculator). The business gains on corp. tax but they (rightly tbf) increased the fuel rate by 5p <10000 mile which costs me another £500 per year per company car. The fuel cost 1p is a gesture that wont be noticed and the VAT increase (which I support) makes no difference as I claim VAT back anyway.
