So this is a joey Barton thread, who coincidentally shares initials with Beckford, who leazes thinks is better than carroll. But then slams the board for selling a player that he thinks is worse than an everton substitute for 35 million.

"any stick to beat Ashley with".

Love how he's ignoring these posts :nufc:

Is that comment actually true? Genuine question, as I can't recall L/M saying it.

Just last year.

You're genuinely retarded, aren't you.

There isn't anyone on here who likes Ashley.

isn't there ? I can think of a few, who have actually said they "back him"....he's in his 4th year of owning the club man, they should have him sussed by now.

I think the club is on the right track.

If he invests 15-20m in the summer on two or three players of the same standard as Tiote and HBA, we'll be a comfortable top half team - in and around the European places.

"On the right track" Fucking hell give me a pint of your Delusional ale. Have you been watching the last few games, Getting howked off 4 - 0 Stoke is good then? We have the worst set of strikers in the PL and a Manager who is a prime cunt, if we dont improve sharpish we will be in the Championship next year. European places my arse.

Until he sacked Hughton and sold Carroll, fucking off fans and squad in two masterstrokes.

  • 2 weeks later...
Joey Barton was meant to be really good crack at the Hilton talk last

night, £500 a table - well worth it they reckon.

They have said he is totally nuts and just tells it as and how it is, swearing his

heed off and that.

Tales so far:

They had a comedian on first who was late turning up and announced he was

from 5under1and, he didn't last long, nobody laughed and he was heckled and

left the stage... a table at the front stopped him and said "excuse me mate,

do us a favour please.. Can you start telling some jokes".. The comedian

said "I can see this is going nowhere, see ya later.."

On his contract -

I can honestly tell you I want to stop here, I know you hear this all the

time, but I generally so, whether you believe me or not.... The idiots who

run the club keep moving the goalposts, they have offered me to take a pay

cut - I'm nobodies mug and the idiots who run the show haven't got a clue..

If I don't get what I want I will still stop here and let my contract run

down, love it here, and Alan Pardew is working his b*ll*cks off to get me

the deal I want.

On Pardew -

He is a cracking bloke and a great manager and coach, I hope the fans can

give him time and see what he can do, people think he's Ashley puppet, I

can tell you he most defiantly isn't anyone puppet and he isn't scared to

stand up to anyone at the club, I love working with him.

On Shearer -

I have a hell of a lot of respect for the man as a player, he was great,

but mmm we don't get on, we never will, I was recently out with a few of

the lads and he was there, we didn't say a word to each other all night,

just a wink and a nod.. Fantastic player but wasn't so good as a manager...

when I was at Man City Robbie Fowler was my role model - haha.. He was a

great player too, never scored as many penalties as Shearer though.... Ha.

On That bust up at Anfield.

We were 3-0 down and I f*cking hate that Alonso, I hate the c*nt... so I

thought right, here we go... it was a very bad tackle and a very bad thing to

do, I know that.. When I was in the dressing room Shearer stormed in after

the game pointing the finger and shouting you are a coward! Nobody calls me

a coward, if he had attacked me with regards to my football I would of

accepted my b*ll*cking, but he attacked me personally, I can tell you know

if anyone in here want to call me a coward I will take you into the car

park here and now, nobody calls me that.. Anyway yes there was a bit argy

bargy and we haven't got on since.

Who is your most hated current Player -

At the moment Carl Henry at wolves, what he done down there early in the

season, I wished I had digged him like I did Pederson the other month, I

really do... I know Mick McCarthy had told him to try and get me sent off,

anyway I kept calling him Chris, and pretending not to know who he was

after the game to wind him up.

Who is the hardest player you have played with.

Richard Dunn - I can tell you, no doubt about it, it was one of the biggest

mismatches going, but yes I started on him and he gave me a right hiding,

lets say I wouldn't start on him again.

Who else do you hate-

Any journalists in tonight?... "yes"... I hate you c*nts as well, hate you.

What's your biggest highlight of your career so far -

Winning the championship last year, I know I didn't play many games and I

hate it when players play 12 games or so and pick up a medal, it p!sses me

right off, but yes, I enjoyed, it was great.

On that 5-1 against mackems -

Unbelievable, an amazing day that will stop with me for the rest of my

life.

On Nile Ranger -

I can tell you he is the thickest man I have ever met in my life, he hasn't

got a single brain cell, dopey as hell.

On Enrique, will he stop -

I'm stopping, that's all that matters to me, if he wants to go, go.. I'm

not bothered.. He is the most vainest man I have ever met, honestly he is

terrible, he cannot walk past a mirror with out checking himself out, I

don't know why, he's an ugly Spanish c*nt anyway.

What happened after that heavy defeat at Leyton orient pre- season -

We got hammered 6-0, after the game we spoke about what we need to do to

get this club back up in the premier league and who is up for the battle,

I'm not going to name names here, but some didn't want to be here and

couldn't care less, I want tell you who they are... "come on Joey, we want

names".. Hmmm, okay right, I will tell you 2 of them, 2 names only, that

f*cking Bassong and f*cking Martins, disgrace they are, total disgrace...

anyway, the next morning after the match, me and a few of the lads

confronted those who didn't want to be there and, well, I basically told

them to p!ss off out of this club and never to come back.

On Stoke 4-0-

I thought we were the better football team, but we got stuffed 4-0.. It

happens.

On this side now -

Look, I believe we are a good football team, get behind us, we will be

alright..

On Andy Carroll -

£35 million, I would of sold him as well, no doubt about it.

Finishing off -

When I speak, I speak my mind and tell the truth, I hope all of you here

can believe everything I have said tonight as I don't talk sh!t and tell

things how they are.

If I was to ever go to one of these talks I'd want Barton there. Fucking hell, slating his current employers  he just gives an honest answer about everything he's asked, no bullshit. Maybe abit too honest at times.

He doesn't seem to have much time for Enrique though, which is a shame.

If I don't get what I want I will still stop here and let my contract run

the deal I want. = correct. Take note those who stupidly think the club is "on the right lines"

"He (Pardew) is a cracking bloke and a great manager and coach, I hope the fans can

give him time and see what he can do, people think he's Ashley puppet, I

can tell you he most defiantly isn't anyone puppet and he isn't scared to

"On Nile Ranger -

I can tell you he is the thickest man I have ever met in my life, he hasn't

got a single brain cell, dopey as hell." if I said that, I'd get called a racist  by people like the Canadian loonie

I suppose it depends on how the comments on Enrique came across, it could've been a running joke between them or he was just taking the piss.

You'd need to be there to know.

A more honest version of the night....

Joey Barton was meant to be really good crack at the Hilton talk last

night, £500 a table - well worth it they reckon.

They had a comedian on last, by which time everyone was knackered, so he didnt last long.

On his contract -

"I want to stay, even if they try to sell me. I want to go nowhere. I dont mind taking a pay cut but the first offer, which they said was non negotiable, was ridiculous. We'll talk again in the summer.

On Pardew -

When he first came I didnt rate him, since working with him ive been very impressed

On Shearer -

I have a hell of a lot of respect for the man as a player, he was great, and we're on decent terms now, but will never be best mates.

On That bust up at Anfield.

We were 3-0 down and was annoyed and made a poor tackle. As soon as I did it I knew I was in the wrong. Shearer said i deliberately tried to injure him, hence the bust up.

Who is your most hated current Player -

At the moment Carl Henry at wolves, but the best way to show him up is by scoring more than them

Who is the hardest player you have played with.

Richard Dunn - I can tell you, no doubt about it, it was one of the biggest

mismatches going, but yes I started on him. Thankfully I came out ok.

Who else do you hate-

This question didnt happen in my recollection

What's your biggest highlight of your career so far -

"Winning the championship last year" (didnt say this as he didnt want credit)

On that 5-1 against mackems -

Unbelievable, an amazing day that will stop with me for the rest of my

life.

On Nile Ranger -

Nile's a bit dozy but a very exciting player

On Enrique, will he stop -

How would I know?

What happened after that heavy defeat at Leyton orient pre- season -

them to p!ss off out of this club and never to come back.

If anyone believes the above paragraph theyre utterly clueless

On Stoke 4-0-

I thought we player better football than them but couldnt handle a team of cloggers

On this side now -

Look, I believe we are a good football team, get behind us, we will be

alright..

On Andy Carroll -

£35 million, I would of sold him as well, no doubt about it.

Finishing off - Donated a few grand of his own money to the charaties

Going to be tough on JB (assuming he's still here) to have to train with Gateshead or someone while the rest of the teams in America on pre season.

Cant see them letting him in and think this either points to the fact they are going to sell, or more likely that whoever arranged this has dropped an almighty bollock.

Eh? Have I missed something? I think it's been firmly established that most of the controversial quotes attributed to Barton are just made up and he didn't say them.

Something else on the Barton front (from The Star):

JOEY BARTON has sensationally re-opened his bitter feud with Ousmane Dabo, branding his former Manchester City team-mate a liar.

Barton put the Frenchman in hospital after a training ground punch-up four years ago.

He received a four-month suspended prison sentence for assault along with 200 hours community service.

The FA also hit Barton with a six-match ban, and the midfielder quit City for Newcastle a few weeks later.

His career threatened to spiral out of control when he was jailed for another assault in Liverpool later in 2007, forcing the 28-year-old to undergo therapy and give up alcohol.

But he remains bitter about Dabo’s decision to press charges following the incident in May 2007.

Speaking about it publicly for the first time, Barton claims he was unable to give his version of events after his lawyers advised him to plead guilty and say nothing.

“I have never given my side of the story, but the truth is that he started the fight and I finished it,” said Barton.

“Frankly, Ousmane is a little pussy. It’s him who hit me from behind with his hand.

“When he did that, I hit him back. It happened just like that, bang, bang bang and it was over. But I am no monster. I don’t like fighting, but it’s human to defend yourself.

“The problem was I hit him three times. Of course, it was not the best response, but I grew up in the street and when I am attacked, I defend myself and when you fight, there are no rules.” Dabo was treated for serious head and eye injuries, but Barton insists he should not have gone to the police.

He said: “I wanted to discuss it like men, but he never came to see me and that makes me angry because he told lies in the papers and I was not able to respond.

“There was a late tackle in training and we exchanged a few words. I have an aggressive style and he wasn’t happy.

“I told him, ‘You are a piece of s**t, don’t come looking for me’. He said, ‘You are arrogant, you think you’re something special’.

“We kept talking and I said, ‘Yeah, you’re great’, but it was sarcastic because he was not playing well, so he slapped me from behind. He tried to be the bad boy, but it was him who ended up on the floor.”

Barton, who has since undergone anger management classes, was speaking to French magazine ‘So Foot’. He said: “You know, I am not proud of that. It’s never good to fight a team-mate, but from the moment he raised his hand to me ... it’s hard to explain.

“If we saw each other tomorrow, we might say, ‘What we did was stupid, I am sorry and we should never have fought’.

"I‘ve seen team-mates fighting at least 15 times but City said I had hit him too many times.”

To be honest I believe him.

Me too but for all i like his honesty and "i dont give a shit" attitude, i just think sometimes, just sometimes he should keep his mouth shut. Why bring this up now? And his rant about the FA.....is he losing it again?

All that restrained anger on the pitch has to come out sometime i guess.

I've no doubt dabo was a snidey twat and did provoke him. The thing is though, it sounds like Dabo probably just gave him a bit of a slap whereas Barton pummelled him to the point he was hospitalised. Whether or not he was retaliating, to my mind the response just wasn't proportional. I expect team-mates have fights all the time in training, but they don't end in GBH. Barton should let this go imo.
