:icon_lol: Aye, a day off makes it all okay.

Are you that bothered about a few pathetic sad little men walking round the town playing pipes? I'd be all for it every day here if it meant a paid day off.

I'm not arsed like.

But imagine every 12th July, the most inbred of Sunderland season ticket holders marching through the streets of Newcastle with their 2-1 and FTM banners. You might laugh at it but it'd be certain to piss off quite a few other people.

Never understood why Catholics didn't/don't just stand on masse and show the marchers their arses as a response.

(And vice versa obviously)

Doing nowt, not interested in it. Got Friday off though and a couple of people have asked if it's because I'm going out for St Paddy's, I was quick to put them right mind and I'm hoping it was just because I've got an Irish surname.

Aye you look a bit Irish, so do I, ye can tell the Irish blood people on here like. J69 looks Irish too.

:icon_lol: I was born ginger, like.

I don't mean ginger. Irish are dark with defined features, ye can tell someones got Irish in them by looking at them imo, the ginger thing is a myth, unless ginger Irish are from the six counties. My Irishness is from Tipperary and Kerry.

I agree with you there. My grandad is from County Cork, I have a very Irish surname. Surely being ginger is more associated with the Scots?

The most Central and West of Ireland your roots are the better looking you're likely to be apparently. Some Irish bloke was on about it.

it's an excuse to get pissed ffs, for at least a day, and increasingly a week.

the amount of people who have irish somewhere in their recent heritage over there, you'll also be unlucky if the boss doesn't cut you some slack for being a bit the worse the wear in the morning.

how precious are the paddies on here by the way? how dare some yank claim membership of our exclusive shoeless, grass eating, liver failing, west brit, baby shitting, tramp culture!

the only one i like is the one they use for the rugby since theres nothing in it really that relates back to any of the trouble, just a good anthem.

Come the day and come the hour, come the power and the glory,

We have come to answer our country.s call from the four proud provinces of Ireland.

Ireland, Ireland together standing tall.

Shoulder to shoulder we.ll answer Ireland.s call!

From the mighty glens of Antrim, from the rugged hills of Galway,

From the walls of Limerick and Dublin Bay, from the four proud provinces of Ireland.

Ireland, Ireland together standing tall.

Shoulder to shoulder we.ll answer Ireland.s call!

I remember some Irish boxer won a medal at the Olympics about 15 years ago, and they were so unprepared for Ireland winning a medal, they didn't have an anthem to play on the tape, so some fucka had to sing "Danny Boy".

Nah, that was Commonwealth Games. It was when Wayne McCullogh won the gold. I remember it well for some reason. They didn't have the anthem (i.e. Londonderry Air) on tape for some reason so some bloke got up and sang Danny Boy (which is sang to the tune of Londonderry Air).
