Idioteque 0
Good win for us that, If the shite lose tomorrow we need to win our game in hand in the week to go joint 6th Just shows how tight it is
Nyff 0
I actually thought Saylor looked decent going forward today, it is just that in his main duty of cutting off Arteta he just practically stood back and watched.
Dr Gloom 21790
should have got something. can't fault the effort from the players. just not that much quality up front. most of them put in a decent shift, except taylor, who was awful. very good game for the neutral viewer. it was end to end last 20 as we went chasing it. edit...and lovenkrands, who i forgot even played Edited March 5, 2011 by Dr Gloom
Noelie 103
I had bad feelings about this match. Past history has shown that whenever we are in a good position to do ourselves some good we fuck it up as only we can.
Kevin S. Assilleekunt 1
Best is good enough as a 4th choice striker. He has a good attitude and is capable of scoring goals at this level, mainly against weaker teams. There was a gulf in class between Best/Lovenkrands and Ameobi when he came on In terms of hold-up play and general contribution, Best/Love offered nout. Neville Neville Neville 0
Don't want anyone kidding themselves that we deserved anything from the game. Everton started off much better than us. We had a 5-10 minute spell where we got our goal, could have got another, and then were suckerpunched during our best spell. From that point we were never on top. We basically went all out attack in the second half, presumably hoping that getting numbers forward would compensate for us being 2nd best in terms of quality out on the pitch. During all the time we had pressure in search of the equaliser, everton had more and better chances to extend the gap. I don't think I've seen a team be more wasteful on the counter attack in years than they were. They have maybe 7 or 8 attacks you'd expect to score from 8-9 times/10 in the last 35-40 minutes. We seemed to be lacking shape all day, even before going gung ho. We're a bunch of generally hard-working players who are not world beaters in their primary position. Unsurprisingly it all went wrong with more than 1 player playing out of position. Especially worried about nolan and tiote, they looked like they'd not played together before, we constantly had either noone supporting the strikers down the middle, or noone protecting the centre backs. Seemed like they had a 10 yard lead connecting the 2, rather than the usual one drops back, one goes forward strategy Still, very exciting game to watch. Maybe this 3pm saturday home game curse is a punishment for all us streamers! Maybe if we all boycott one of the games, and do the 5live/soccer saturday/final score thing, we'll actually win. Its almost as bad as being born on boxing day and have my birthday continually impinged on by another newcastle failure to win!!

What the fuck am I doing at left-back?" I certainly was. Taylor didn't look Prem quality. You fault our strikers when the defence was atrocious for the goals, Everton could have had a few more thanks to shocking defending, and Arteta bossed the midfield. I think we were really poor today, ho hum. It was a second string team.

sammynb 3342
Especially worried about nolan and tiote, they looked like they'd not played together before Without Baron tucking in we looked considerably weaker in the midfield. Is there any substance to the rumours about him refusing to play for whatever reason?
Deano 0
For two weeks running we have been appauling at home. What the fuck is going on? The blame is on the players who just didnt do it today but AP's tactics were wrong today as well. I for one will stop the talk about europe now. I think everyone of them out there today possibly with the exception of tiote and best, need to have a good look at themselves. Enrique can fuck off now like. Really, you were obviously watching a different game to me. And Jonas deserves some dues, the scruffy twat could barely walk and yet he ran it off without complaint. The team thought it would be easy and it showed. Harper....few good saved but his kicking put is trouble quite a few times. Simpson...was shite at both L and RB, just didnt pick up nor put balls in that he is capable of. Enrique....didnt look bothered, lax and lazy today and when taken off wasnt bothered. His hearts gone. Williamson...shocking positional play all game. Taylor....Shite Coloccini...best of the 5 but nothing special Jonas...Yes looked lively and carried the ball well, few good balls too and credit for stayin on pitch but still didnt do enough for me. Nolan...few good runs, few good passes but was too slow to finish a couple of good chances Tiote...bossed midfield again but even he got caught in posession far too much. Lovenkrands....SHITE Best...lead the line well, got a poachers goal and would of had another if he didnt push. Shola...can he just stay through the middle? Shite man. You seriously tellin me your pleased with the "effort"? Come on mate we were shite today.
Kevin S. Assilleekunt 1
Aye good point about Routledge. If we started with Simpson at right-back and ROutledge on the right, the team would have been considerably stronger.
Monroe Transfer 0
Everton now have the same number of points as but have a game in hand that we'll be played during the week. So expect to see us drop to 10th before the next game. A win today would have had us in seventh (sixth if Villa were better). So annoying.

OTF 7243
Yep, loaning out Routledge and consequently having to play a right back as a right midfielder... the type of vision that only this mob could display.

Deano 0
From what was a very positive situation before last weekend, to what now is a fairly negative one. Everton win their game in hand we will be in 10th and 3 points adrift. Going into a two week break for the players to dwell on 2 poor results and looking behind them rather than infront. This was always the danger when the league is so tight. But we really should of kicked on and distanced ourselves from the chasing mob. Two weeks running we've not taken a great chance and looked poor/overwhelmed.
Noelie 103
On looking back I have to question Pardew's decisions again. (1) Why did he start Wilson(Simpson) out of position and not start Guthrie who was on the bench. (2) Why did he start Saylor out of position at right back instead of Simpson. (3) Why did he bring Ameobe on to replace Enrique and not Ferguson. (4) Why did he put Simpson out of position again by moving him to left-back. (5) Why didn't he put Kugi on a bit earlier to try and do something. Ranger & Campbell not on the bench. Are they injured?

Ranger is injured aye. Agree pretty much with your points here. Taylor was fucking shite and Ive no ide why he was at RB when he is a CH and Simpson wasnt at RB. Wasnt just this though, they had no fight or will to win. No urgency. Deserved to get beat tbf. Arteta was class as well and had Taylor all over. Once again we're starting to look over our shoulder. Guthrie does tend to drift into the middle when he plays wide right, but he has played there and Simpson hasn't.
Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
I've thought Taylor has been alright at right-back in the past, but he was a fucking liability today. The amount of space we gave them down both flanks was ridiculous. The number of defensive reshuffles didn't help a shambolic performance like.
