You don't have to have been at the game, it might not even be a game but these are mine:

1. Man Utd 2 Bayern Munich 1 1999

I know people think I have a bit of a soft spot for Man Utd, I do. I always have had it's not like I support them but I totally respect them, and they've always been the biggest club in the last 50 years, all this "we support our local team pish", they've got a bigger local fanbase than we do. Anyway I just remember the game being absolutely shite, but Bayern totally dominating, they were 1-0 up early doors, then Scholl(?) was it chipped Schmeichel and hit the post with 15 mins to go which would've killed it, then Jancker (he was fuckin wank him like), hit the bar with an over head kick, you thought the lucky cunts, they're gonna fluke this. They were 1-0 down to the dippers earlier in the season, and scored 2 in injury time. I've always been one of these who supports English teams in Europe or wants them to win, and I saw an English side winning the CL as a major achievement for the country. Sheringham scored and I'll be honest I jumped out my seat, another corner and you thought if anyone is lucky enough to it it's them. The ball came in again Sheringham headed it no where in particular but it would have to land perfectly on Solskjear's right boot and in to the top corner..AND SOLKJAER HAS WON IT. Now what I loved about it most was, that absolute cunt Matthaeus leading the celebrations in true gestapo style in the last minute, that they'd already won it, it was fabulous seeing his face at the end. The likes of Sammy Kuffour were on the floor, never seen a group of players as depressed in my whole life, but it was fucking magic, my pulse was racing and that fucking was footballing history.

2. Charlton 4 Sunderland 4 1998

Sunderland were the better side by far during the game I thought, at 3-2 when Quinn scored the header you thought that's it noo so it was even sweeter the fact a MACKEM, Clive Mendonca went on to get a hattrick against them. Apparently his family had their windows put oot, classy mackems. When Gray missed, watched round me mates fell down back on the settee in the celebrations and knocked it backwards crushing his mams foot, oh well never mind.

3. Juventus 2 Man Utd 3 1999

Juventus were the best team in the world for a number of years, and what a side they had then, Zidane, Super Pippo, Davids etc...and Man Utd 2-0 down after 10 mins (3-1 on agg) you thought that's it, it's fucked now. By half time it was 2-2, and Man Utd played as well as any English team I'd ever seen in Italy, absolutely dominating. The second half was much the same Cole made it 2-3, and it's THE ONLY time I've seen an Italian support give a victorious away team a standing ovation at the end.

4. Ireland 1 Italy 0 1994

No one expected Ireland to win, think it was about the time of me GCSE's and me and me mates went out like mugs and decided to get pissed on Guinness because Ireland were playing, but fuck me it was fantastic, Italy were shit, Babb, McGrath and Houghton were immense and it was a magic night.

5. Liverpool 0 Arsenal 2 1989

I'd never seen anything like it in my life time, watched it with 4 friends in my front room, and I was the only one supporting Arsenal :D

My earliest football memory is the 1979 FA Cup final.

I can remember how exciting it was when Man.U got themselves back into it with two late goals, only to feel deflated when Alan Sunderland went straight down the other end and won it for Arsenal. I suppose a rush of excitement followed quickly by the bitter taste of disappointment set me up well for supporting NUFC for the following 30-odd years.

I remember watching that Charlton/Sunderland game in a pub doon Gateshead when I was only about 7 or 8 since I think it fell on May Bank Holiday so me and my parents went out and met some family and friends for an excuse for them to get on the piss. My mother's more of a mackem than she is a Geordie (she'll watch both teams but she definitely leans toward Sunderland since her older brothers and dad supports them) but at this point, I'd never seen her really get into anything like she had this game of football. By the time the penalties came around, she was sitting with her head on the table during Gray's and when he missed and the whole bar went "WAHEY!!", she just went "For fuck's sake!....sorry, son" It was the first time I'd really seen a game of football like that as well and I had forgotten all about that memory until I read that post.

Another one was just this summer, we had went out all day for a drink since it was sunny and we were all free so we went and sat in a beer garden and had been drinking for about 6/7 hours by the time Uruguay and Ghana's game went into full crazy mode. It was the game of the WC by far and we're standing watching this game, half-cut, cheering for Ghana like it was Kevin Nolan leading them out. Uruguay started their cheating then Suarez stopped our African Shearers from progressing and we were incensed. I think one of us booed. After the game finished, I remember thinking it had made the rest of the WC look shite.

I'd probably have Coventry 3 Tottenham 2, the 87 Cup Final in 6th place for very similar reasons.

Your #4 Stevie is my #1 no question of any football memory I have.

when i'm in a foul mood or a bit down i put this vid on never fails to cheer me up.

Paul McGrath is my favourite player and in that game as the journo says in the vid he was a colossus. He just

#2 would probably be qualifying for the world cup knocking out holland

#3 Same world cup and Robbie Keane scoring at the death against Germany, I went absolutely mental when we got this one

I know i'm supposed to hate him with a passion, but by god i wish we had another Niall Quinn up front for Ireland.

Did you read the initial question :D

I've just watched that Man Utd v Bayern clip again got proper goosebumps.

Kuffour curled up on the floor thumping the ground :icon_lol:

:D

Matthaus was the one who I felt most disdain for. He was whipping up the Bayern crowd at 1-0 as if they'd already won it, fucking kraut paedo, he is as well.

Roy Keane was absolutely magnificent that night, everything a captain should be.

Di Canio - some memorable moments from him .

Crazy as a coconut but you've gotta love his passion .

Would have loved him to have played at NU in his pomp

(...ok probably would've upset the dressing room ! but he would've been loved i'm sure)

Winterburn's brown trouser moment when he checks back at him is always worth watching again too

Gazzas tears.

Manu -v- Bayern

Dippers comeback V Milan

Are 3 I'll never forget. The first as it's so iconic. The 2nd two due to the amount of fans of those teams over here. I watched them both in my local, but may as well have watched in the Printworks and Rubbersoul!

Other than that, I have memories of incidents rather that stand-out games.
