A great servant to the game.

Although due to his injuries I still don't feel we ever saw him reach his full potential.

By that, I'm talking about the player who scored that goal away at Spurs in the first season of the Premiership.

To be honest I don't think his injuries hindered him that much. Easily in the top three Premiership players ever, in terms of skill, application, attitude, consistency. He's just a freakishly good player. I remember sections of Man Utd's crowd were booing him about 2003, beggars belief really. I bet he's still playing in three years time.

Good shout re: that goal at WHL, back when football was always interesting. I think one of his best goals was against the toon, certainly one of his best shots. Ball came across the edge of the box fast as fuck and he volleyed it right in the top corner with the side of boot, and minute later Veron made it 3-3, what a fuckin game that was. Should be in any top 10 Premiership game that imo.

Great goal. Proper youthful know-no-fear dribble, including nutmegs. The one I always associate with him and miles better than the Arsenal one.

Will still be absolutely delighted when he fucks off for good.

I hope he called it as well.

Nutmegs is the best thing in football and calling it as you jog past just rubs salt in the wounds. Acceptable variations include "Awooga" whispered gently in the ear.

Whilst patting them on the fanny.

If you raise your hands, it's an automatic red card these days.

Fantastic footballer as he is I was disappointed in him the other night like. Was a documentary about some under privileged African country, and he was good enough to go on and spend his time over there. To be fair a knaa as well as anyone it's nee picnic being on telly or radio, but I was really disappointed about his lack of personality. He just seemed ultra robotic, almost stage management miserable dense responses in a monotone manor.

Decent lad but that FA Cup goal wasnt that fucking special, they just kept backing off the cunt.

Shut up man  You could say the same about Maradona's goal against England

I think Giggs is class but I agree with wyki about that goal. It was obviously a very good goal but not as good as it's made out. The defenders did just back off. He ran from his own half and he'd only beaten about one man (who made a half-hearted challenge) before he was in the box.

Aye but the beauty of it was the pace at which he ran with the ball, not to mention (without sounding like Andy Gray) he had "no right at awww" to score from that angle past the England keeper, and I wouldn't even blame Seaman it was good a strike.

Preferred Dyer's three touch lob goal tbh, can't recall who it was against mind  Everton?

I prefer any toon goal obviously, I preferred George Gerogiadis' goal against Everton when he scored with his cock, and while Dyer's goal was great it was only 3 touches of the ball really.
