Liverpool's Jock McNab was sent off and he was followed to the dressing room by Walter Wadsworth a few minutes later, who had punched United's Tom Urwin in the face for throwing mud at him. Urwin also got his marching orders.

 

While Wadsworth and McNab were bemoaning their luck, there was a knock on the dressing room door. "Who is it?", asked McNab, and was told it was one of the club's directors. "Bloody hell, has the ref started to send the directors off now?", came McNab's response.

Not sure I agree on the worse pitches tbh, the modern grass is an evil bastard, let's face it, it trips up these millionaire superstars anytime they go near another player.
