Not including beye, barely had 50 games and then buggered off. Can't decide upfront, as much as i love SLF, Tino was always a joy to watch, and bellamy always a threat. But you still include Sicknote who played 36? (At least Habib had the decency of scoring before buggering off, not that it justifies his salary which I'm sure was alot less than Woodgates ) Edited February 9, 2011 by B&Wsy

I'd have Beye in the squad like.
Guest alex
I nearly included Cole and Ferdinand ahead of Shearer as I was thinking of them at their best in a B&W shirt. However, I think Shearer in his first season here was a more complete player than any of the others we've had. I can't understand people leaving Rob Lee out of CM either. Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
Heart says: --------------------Given Venison - Woodgate - Albert - Enrique Solano ----------- Lee -----------Robert ------------------Beardsley ------------Shearer - Ferdinand but: --------------------Given Venison - Woodgate - Albert - Enrique ---Solano ----- Lee - Tiote ----- Robert ------------Shearer - Ferdinand probably better balanced. Smooth Operator 10
Sir Les wouldnt make my eleven like, Beardsley, Shearer up front. Ginola over Robert easily and Solano, Batty, Lee in midfield. Given, Barton, Woodgate, Albert and Enrique at the back picks itself. Tiote and Barton from current squad on the bench along with Cole, Tino and Ferdinand and Srnicek and a sneaky Salty Sellars getting the last sub spot! I think I've said before I'd have Cole in as he encapsulated the sheer unashamed joy of the first year up - both as a player/bloke and as the focus of the team. I prefer Ferdinand to Shearer as I think even though he wasn't here as long, he put more in overall - I realise that's heresy but I remember pre-England iffy performances effort wise from Shearer and some of the games in the last 2 years when he'd plainly gone - he probably should have given up earlier. Tooj 17
Venison better than Beye in my book. Ginola vs. Robert is a toughie too. Even though Robert was more productive in terms of goals and assists, he just wasn't as good of a footballer as Ginola. Put it this way, if you were top team trying to win things, you would pick Ginola over Robert every time.
Guest Your Name Here
Surprised nobody has mentioned Gary Speed. I’d have him in ahead of Tiote who’s only played a handful of games. Most players can have a good season; it’s being consistently good over a prolonged period that marks a player out as genuine quality. Speed probably had a better all round game as well. One spectacular goal apart Tiote’s game has been limited to win the ball give the ball. He does it exceptionally well but I’d like to see more from him before announcing him the second best midfielder we’ve had in twenty years.
