Tom 14013
I quite liked Gary Moore and I'm shocked by this. He was a great guitarist.

Tom 14013
It's bound to have been drink related. Anyway - his guitar technique was amazing, This was largely because he was left handed playing a right handed guitar. So he had a great strength for vibrato etc and found his sound quite easily. Despite being out of popular music for 20-30 years he is well known and loved in guitar circles and even recently sold a lot of seats. Listen to the vibrato on this - He influenced me quite a lot when I was 16/17 because I had never heard a guitarist so precise whilst playing blues orientated music, lets face it Page was scrappy. Moore's playing was effortless and he got the guitar to do exactly what he wanted. I wouldn't call it good blues music but you would listen to Gary Moore in appreciation of his technical ability rather than composition. Another example - although his vibrato is so extreme he's often drifting out of key! Anyway RIP.

Bonamental 0
How? Bonamental browsing. Moore hated Bonamassa. Yeah, heard about that, but never really seen/read it or whatever. There do seem to be a few around who like to try and chip away at Joey B, never really understood it to be honest, never got the impression from seeing him live/videos/interviews etc that hes anything but the humble guy he appears to be. But he doesn't seem to bear any grudges: "What a horrible way to start today. I was just told that my friend and guitar hero Gary Moore has died. I would not be playing music if it wasn't for the playing and support of Gary. I only had the opportunity to see him in person twice but he was always extremely nice and offered some very helpful advice. This is a sad day,a very very sad day." Anyway, besides the point. A great guitarist gone. RIP.

Well colour me jealous. But yeah, I know what you mean. Do feel slightly like since he's had a bit more exposure and been in BCC he's started to lighten up a bit though. Maybe just a bit more relaxed with the whole thing. Anyway, thread derail over. Love his version of:
