Guest Marshall-Baines
Some great points in the above . With terraces you could always slink away from the berks and like-minded folk naturally grouped over time . You could forge your own matchday. Without wishing to be trite or cliched its hard not to go back to simply saying 'its not what it used to be' . The very nature of being physically seated the main reason . As you say a dual singing section caper would be great but cant see it ever happening too soon given the dynamics . One of the best examples of this ive experienced was Marseille in UEFA semi 94 with the opposite banks behind goal singing backwards and forwards . Atmosphere it generated was incredible - and they were uncovered ! Granted they had fetched in their own mini PA's to stoke it up but great nontheless . Oh and they were standing too . Rip out the seats and get a few karaoke machines along and it'd be rockin ! It’s not uncommon on the continent? I’d guess it has something to do with lower attendances and less away fans. There was certainly a bit of vocal rivalry between the Gallowgate and The Leazes before football became fashionable. Whatever the reason behind it, having two ‘popular’ ends definitely helps the atmosphere. Not so sure about the PA and brass bands are a big no. I never experienced the Leazes End when it was in all its' glory, they pulled it doon about 20 days after I was born, certainly in the 80's there was no rivalry between Gallowgate and Leazes. The Leazes was somewhere you went, when the Gallowgate gates were shut cos there was too many in. Keegan's first game as manager was the last time I stood in the Leazes. The rivalry was between the Corner and the Scoreboard. Anyway, been discussing this with a couple of me mates over the weekend, the East Stand is an option. Got one mate who doesn't have a ST but is getting one next season that's where he wants to go. I always hoped my migration there would be when I was in me fifties and a tired old cunt who can't be arsed to sing, and lose myself a bit. I'm in two minds, gonna see what the kids next to me are doing, and how this L4 proposal goes. Ashley is a wank. I'm waiting for the day that he actually makes a decision that I like, I know many of you don't care, but this shocking eviction is one of the hardest to take, because there are so many other things he could've done this. Spiteful bastard he is.
Guest
The atmosphere on Saturday would never have reached it's crescendo had it not been for the lads in the corner that kept singing through the whole game, even while we were four nowt down. The rest of the corner to my left towards the away fans are pro-active...the families to my right are reactive. Although I appreciate their efforts I'm not sure that I agree with this . I used to have my season ticket in Ultra-ville and while the atmosphere and standing was very enjoyable up there (bar some of the more immature nonsense chanting) the reality I found sitting in the Gallowgate (and indeed have found sitting in other parts of the ground now and again) for the Arsenal game was that the sound created up there just doesn't carry. Other than a few muted "FCB" chants I couldn't hear a thing they may or may not have been chanting and any atmosphere that built up in and around where I was sat came solely as a response to events on the pitch. That's always been the problem with the location of the "singing section", they're stuffed so far from the pitch that the players can't even hear them. I sort of take your point that there could be a domino effect but again, I think on Saturday, it was less about chanting and more about a wall of noise in response to the events on the pitch; events that can't really be said to be influenced by supporters chanting songs that are lost in the stratosphere. Are you that pro-Ashley cunt on Newcastle Online who kept having a go at me for criticising Ashley ? Leazes, Leazes, Leazes. Michael is actually one of the founders of the NUSC you tit. He looks at things objectively, something you're incapable of doing. The man knows more about the ins and outs of football ownership etc than you could dream of. just a question. Who says the founders of NUSC didn't misguidedly support Mike Ashley in the beginning ? Most did exactly that. As to whether he knows more than me about NUFC, who can say ? no reply from him ? I'm taking that as a yes. Meaning he can't be that clever, when he can't admit it either. Or maybe hes not that into being called a cunt cos you think he might be someone who once said something to you? Our he hasn't been online? Why are you picking a fight with him anyway? just a simple question Gemmill. I realise there was no need to say "cunt" but if he isn't the same person, then I will apologise. If he is the same person, then he is in fact a "cunt", like all the other arseholes on Newcastle Online particularly who were taken in by our owner and can't find it in themselves to admit their judgement was abysmal. I'm not sure what it is you want me to reply to, tbh. I didn't see the need to reply to your initial post given that Mac-Toon already confirmed to you who I was and what I was involved with the setting up of. It's never something I've been secretive about. I would have thought that this would have given you a fair view of my opinions about our owner and rule me out as being the person that you, for some reason, suspected me to be. If you insist on further clarification then here it is: I'm not a member of Newcastle Online, never have been and indeed I have rarely, if ever, read it (the only time I did being out of necessity to the role I had in the NUSC/T). If I'm honest, I'm not sure why anything I've posted on here would make you think differently, but then I'm not sure what it is that I've said to apparently incur your ire on here either. Anyway, Hope that helps clear things up for you. Michael God that must be embarrassing for him

Michael You have the same username [or similar, and I can't check it out] as one of the morons who got all high and mighty and gave me flack for criticising Mike Ashley early on in his regime when most NUFC supporters thought he was the dogs bollocks simply because he wasn't Fat Fred, and were completely taken in and fooled by the fat arsehole. To date, nobody over on that site has had the good grace to apologise to me for banning me for telling them what was obvious - not that I would post again because I wouldn't, but they would restore a bit of respect in my eyes if they did. So I apologise if you are not this person. I've no gripe at all with the NUST by the way, I wanted Mike Ashley out before they were even formed, but I also have no intention of joining. Guest Marshall-Baines
Season ticket renewal form came today. The language involved is horrendously ambiguous. It says people who purchased a season ticket during the 2009/2010 are entitled to purchase a ticket at 2008/2009 levels. Well iirc, the prices were both the same anyway, and I don't like that word during. What if you've had a season ticket for years, it's not as if it's a new purchase. I wouldn't put anything past these wanks. Also ambiguous about the DD final date, says 28th Feb in one breath then 30th April on the other. Anyone would think Enrique and Tiote will be sold and we'll only spend about £15M out of the £50M plus we recieve for Carroll, Tiote and Jose. LeazesMag 0
What's the big rush, eh? In all the years I've supported this football club, I have never, ever, been asked to stump up renewals as early as this, What a fat bastard this bloke is. Bibble 0
I paid 3 years up front last time. Can't do that again. I'm not going to sign up now for the direct debit scheme. Starting to pay in March for next season feels wrong in soooo many ways. The ambiguity around the 28 Feb/30 Apr cut-off dates just further muddies the waters. All the pisstaking makes me feel like I'm being driven away from supporting my own club. I'm going to delay my decison as late as possible. Imo if there's a poor take up of the current deal other offers will be made.

The shopkeepin blubberous ballbag's probably getting some garish luminous star-shaped '10% off' signs printed up t hang from the roof of stadium for home games. The smallprint (hidden swizz) in smallprint and unreadable at distance. The minge.

Happy Face 29
Take it all back. Turns out I can move anywhere in the Leazes/Gallowgate for £450 a seaon. Apologies to Derek Llambias. I'd be pissed off If I was one of the poor sods who's been paying £500+ to sit there for the last few years and gets me sat next to them next year. Might only be for those who paid 3 years in advance. 3 year season ticket offered for £1350...advertised as a 20% discount, it's actually a 30% increase, but not as bad as I'd feared. Happy Face 29
I take it back. Llambias is a twat again. We've only got a fortnight to get our renewals back in. The Bolton game is 2 days before they have to be in so if you want to discuss it with your mates you haven't really got much of an opportunity to do so at the game. Why in christ would renewals need to be in by 28/02?

The whole ticketing thing is a farce and will piss off a lot of people in the long run. I see the opt out deadline for cancelling the ten year deal is in February. It’s nowt more than a psychological trap to ensnare people who are susceptible to pressure sales. I suppose it makes sense for supporters who would buy a season ticket even if Ashley pissed on their face, but for everybody else it's a gamble that leaves Ashley holding most the cards.
