KeithJ 0
Best - shite Lovankrands - out of form Ranger - too raw and needs to bulk up In truth our system is well and truly to the dogs. Nolan isn't effective as a striker, can't really dominate it as a header. I wonder if Colocini could be the answer. The boy will win headers and let's face it, he can certainly finish. Other possibility is Gutierrez! He seems to have a knack of running and playing him on the last defender would give him tremendous space to run in to. Ayatollah Hermione 13762
Lovenkrands is more out of his depth than out of form.
OTF 7238
Lovenkrands this season has looked like a Touch (touch football it's called over here) player trying to play full contact Rugby League. Positionally though he's better than Best and Ranger seem to be, but he needs to play alongside someone who can get the ball and act as a passing outlet, or have a good midfield sliding the ball ahead of him to run onto it. We have neither and so playing Lovenkrands is a little like taking a knife to a gun fight. Fact is though we're going to have to rely on him to provide something throughout the remainder of the season. I'd be looking into getting some sort of titanium skull implant for Shola (yes, it has come to this) then trying to play someone like Ireland or Ben Arfa off him when they're back. wykikitoon 19840
Well, Ranger has his turn to get a run in and show us what he can do. IMO he needs a run in the team to prove that he can do it. Last night he made a few decent runs and when the ball is knocked into space for him he can do it. Were used to knocking the ball high up for Carroll, well, we need to adapt our game as we dont have him any more.
ewerk 30175
All I can think of is playing one up front with the midfielders really making an effort to support now that Tiote is back. However, none of our strikers are really suited to the lone striker role.

Holden McGroin 6459
Surely that would mean Perch gets back in the team then. That cannot happen.

Am I the only one that can see the boy will amount to nothing. You say he needs a run in the team to prove he can do it but thats the thing, HE CAN'T. You can tell by the way he runs and kicks a ball he is not a natural footballer and how he has got premiership games under his belt is beyond me. P.S he is a twat
KeithJ 0
Unfortunately, I think Nile Ranger made his debut in a tough place. Fulham have one of the best defences in the league. Couple that with a horrible pitch and a lower league stadium which Newcastle just never seem to do well at. I said before the match that we would lose this one and the reasons were this. 1) Squad deflated over Carroll leaving 2) Pitch 3) Stadium Our players seem to thrive on the bigger pitches. Gives them more space to run in to. More time to pick a pass. Also in the stadium like Fulhams where the noise is very close, seems to give them a bit of a shock. JonGoodwyn 1
I think he'll improve a lot once he gets his first goal. Also, hopefully him being so shit the last couple of games might be a much needed reality check for him in terms of him thinking he's already made it. manc-mag 1
If we're losing games because of Fulham's stadium then we ought to pack up and go home now 'Fortunately' you don't have to look to the acoustics for an explanation of last night.
