Lovenkrands has been given the nod to start up top alongside Leon Best, with Shola Ameobi facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a fractured cheekbone. Newcastle will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing midweek defeat at Fulham, and can draw on an impressive victory over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in November as inspiration.
