Emergency Loan?

thats pretty much how I see it. Thank fuck we've already got 30 points on the board and a run of home games that are winnable before the end of the season. I'm not taking anything for granted on last nights evidence though. With such a complete lack of presence up front, we could get pulled right back in the shit.

Vela, Keane, Macheda, Kakuta, Sturridge were all available for loan.

Rapey was obviously content with our options, and I'm sure we could have either held onto AC until the summer or demanded N'gog on loan until then.

N'gog is no improvement on who we already have tbh.

No better than Ranger/Lovenkrands?

Hopefully Pardew is looking at any strikers that are currently free agents in the hope that there is at least one of them that is better or at least on par with our current crop of forwards. Does anyone know if there is a list online of free agents?

I think Ngog probably is but it's hoying another youngster in at the deep end unfairly expecting him to carry an attack. All moot anyway.

No way should we be granted an emergency loan in any case. On what basis anyway? That we have one striker injured who wasn't injured when the transfer window closed? Don't know whether we would have a chance of getting someone in though (i.e. what the actual regs are) but surely we've missed the boat in terms of viable options now anyway.

Na, you can sign a free agent at any time. Does not have to be limited to the transfer windows. Probably the only realistic option we have for getting more bodies through the door. The worry would be that, if they are free agents they probably won't be match fit and so won't help much in the short term.

Maybe Ben Arfa fancies being a striker when he gets back in March

Aye, I know, it was really a reply to the one above yours and the point in general. I know we could get a free agent in but a striker who is a free agent is probably a free agent for a reason. I was on about players currently at clubs.

The emergency loan system is in place to protect the integrity of the competition and ensure all teams can field proper team. Looking at our bench last night it should be an easy sell.

We are desperate for a forward because of an injury, sounds clear cut to me.

Technically we could say Smith is also an injured forward.

Hmm, had a look at the PFA list of players that are free agents and the best they have is Jeremie Aliadiere. He's shit and all that time in smogtown probably fucked his lungs, but he's worked with Pardew before and is probably better than Best.

aliadiere ffs.

we had a whole bastard month to get a striker in and now we're speculating whether we should pin our hopes on a smoggie reject

could be worse...franny jeffers is back from australia and looking for a club

Someone must know where there's a list of free agents in Europe. We're literally at the stage where any old cunt would do.

I said when Best scored the hat-trick against West Ham, that's it, they'll think they can do without Carroll now, it's took him a year almost to score for us but now they'll think well we've got another goalscorer, lets cash in on Carroll.

I was joking at the time tho

All that's needed is a back-hander to a club in order to pay off someones contract. Such shady dealing is what the current regime specialise in so it shouldn't be a problem.

Spending money isn't what the current regime specialises in. I'd say they specialise in doing the opposite. I know what you mean like.

Does Ed Harrison trawl this board for his news or something? I suggested that Aliadiere was available on a free at 12.09 and less than an hour later its a news story on his blog!

At this stage though, anyone will do until the end of the season. Preferably someone who knows where the fucking back of the net is. We literally are out of options. One more injury to a forward and we are royally fucked.

A true embarrassment to the club. Like an excited teenager who gets a major forum on newsnow with his sensationalist bollocks. He's literally quoted me almost directly about 15 times, so I'd say the answer is yes.

Not the most ethical thing to do, but we should be looking for players who can buy out their contract.

Players to be be free agents in the summer and have fallen down their respective pecking order, may also be a better option. As the clubs can release them for free and we can pick them up.
