Tom 14013
I really enjoyed the Dortmund article but that's the only reason I bought it. There's some decent articles in there generally though but no better than what some people do on blogs.

StevenL 0
"Hats off to Mark Lawrenson, the gift that keeps on giving throughout the week. On Friday he appeared on 'The Last Word' radio show in Ireland, and among his tasks was to select a charity bet for the weekend. He selected a real Hail Mary treble of Arsenal, Newcastle and QPR to win (one out of three isn't bad. Apart from if you actually want to win the bet). A quick glance at his predictions column for the BBC website revealed his prediction for Swansea v Newcastle: 1-1. Those poor orphans." Christmas Tree 4852
On the phone so can't find Ryan Taylor's thread but he's currently doing a canny Q and A on twitter whilst on the train. Seems a good lad .
Happy Face 29
Not the Man U page, or the champions league page, but the BBC football page today, covering all teams and all competitions. Ridiculous.
Howmanheyman 33921
Man U's biggest sponsor and benefactor is an increasingly out of control media. You can't measure how much of an advertisement all this media air time is worth to them. Who needs a sugar daddy?
Howmanheyman 33921
"Sir Alex today played down speculation that Ryan Giggs may be cutting white bread out of his post-training breakfast adding that it didn't do Scholesy any harm all these years at United. He also added that he hopes the referee remains vigilant in United's upcoming PL game and thinks the Ref will be keen to get the officials credibility back after the worst decision he's ever seen in football since the Ben Arfa foul against newcastle. Coming up in the next hour, there's a new sponsor at Anfield, we look forward to David Beckham's first game in a PSG shirt, Rafa Benitez confident of a good cup run with Chelsea and one PL club goes into administration and two Championship clubs go to the wall." Brock Manson 0
More comical journalism from Early Doors, Eurosport this morning: ED has no doubt that Fergie will find a solution to this problem – he always does. But next season there will be far greater injustices than that slightly harsh red card for him to manage, and possibly even before the end of this campaign. And with a hungry City, stable Chelsea (with a big-hitter in charge), buoyant Spurs and quite possibly rejuvenated Liverpool panting at their tails, the league table may not be so forgiving – not to mention the gazillions of petrodollars flowing into the continental game. United need to move on, and fast.
Brock Manson 0
This furore over Rooney's career at ManUre being over is doing my head in. Sport 'journalists' in this country have absolutely no concept of squad rotation or selection policy.

Howmanheyman 33921
Not the Man U page, or the champions league page, but the BBC football page today, covering all teams and all competitions. Ridiculous. Put SSN on at 3 o'clock to check up their top story for shits and giggles. Three games tonight involving British clubs in Europe and no other domestic games so naturally their top story is..........Rio not getting charged by UEFA! Next they talk about........Wayne Rooney not playing and whether he might get sold which they discuss with Shteve McClaren in the studio........they then have all the stats about Shreks goals per season and show him scoring some goals.............next they have some pics of the likes of Ince, Beckham, Stam and Van Nistlerooy and how Fergie sold them, (don't forget, this is just off the back of Rooney not starting the other day, in other words, there's no news to talk about other than three English clubs preparing for a European tie).........Next.........A sky reporter stands outside Old Trafford asking Man U fans whether they should keep Rooney? (has he been transferred?).........Next.........A reporter is in Hull chatting with Steve Bruce about how long Fergie will be at 'United' for? Finally after the Bruce chat they have a caption advertising Hull v Burnley on Sky on monday night. (I'm sure the Hull fans were desperate for the preview of their game to be 100% about Fergie and Man U!). Just before the break they had a quick show of John Terry walking through Prague and some Chelsea fans outside a bar. They then showed Colo falling down and said he'd be out for a few weeks just before the break came on.

sweetleftpeg 0
Just back to that BBC front page, it's pretty much one of the reasons a lot of us dislike the national press and media, too much pandering to sponsors and therefore giving too much media time to the armchair fan and not enough to the 'proper' fan. The alleged 'neutral' BBC have become especially bad at this. It's the reason I don't listen to 606 or watch MOTD. 606 is either some Man United/Liverpool/Chelsea 'fan' who lives 300 miles away and iddn't see the game but wants to tell you how bad certain players were anyway. I think punditry has got a lot worse because of this as well. Pundits are basically knowledgeable about Man U/Man City/Chelsea/Liverpool but know fuck all else about the rest of the division or lower leagues. Anything they do say is either guess work or general cliques they get from the press. You hear alleged expert pundits spouting completely untrue bollocks about us constantly and this has really started to get on my tits.

PaddockLad 17704
"The modern Shed end-er" Abramovich isnt going to stand for any more shit like the laying down of tools for 6 months of last season under AVB from the Chelsea squad lead Lamps,Terry & Cole, then suddenly with their "mate" in charge they win the European cup. The fans can't bring themselves to say it pubicly but they know it deep down. If you pick a fight with a billionaire he'll beat you. Thats why Fwanks not getting as much as a 1 year extension. Thats why at 39.5 Giggs is, he wouldnt dream of playing power games at OT. Suck it up Chelsea, make a deal with the devil and you'll have to dance to his tune. Am not sure if a lot of the trophies won under Abramovich will leave a lot of old skool Chelsea fans feeling a bit empty inside....perhaps they even do now? Happy Face 29
Chaotic scenes at a Swiss football match as a pine marten rushes on to the pitch on Sunday. The Swiss Super League game between FC Thun and Zurich is put on hold as players and officials chase the creature. At first the pine marten evades capture, until Zurich defender Loris Benito dives to the ground and grabs it. Unfortunately for Benito, the pine marten responds by biting his finger http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/video/2013/mar/11/pine-marten-pitch-invasion-video Love the music
