The Fish 10857
Wouldn't City have been better served buying a promising youngster from elsewhere for comparative buttons. Like Hughes from Derby, Izzy Brown from West Brom* or Villa's Jack Grealish? Ticks the English box, ticks the promising box, but doesn't cost anywhere near £49m! QPR getting £9m from a sell-on clause. *Chelsea picked him up apparently. Edited July 13, 2015 by The Fish

He's more marketable than them, and already proven to be good enough for the premier league. 50m is buttons to this lot, they've a family worth of about a trillion dollars, they're just buying whoever they fancy buying. Their brand would surely be better served signing a global name (like Schweinsteiger, or Pedro or whomever), rather than Sterling who had a couple of decent seasons for a Europa League level team? Gemmill 44880
There's no point trying to look for the logic in what Man City do. They're just playing fantasy football at this stage. Wtf happened to the FFP rules btw?

Aye, if they were signing Suarez from Liverpool I could understand it, but Sterling isn't the difference between Liverpool & Champions League, nor is he the difference between City and the title, but as you say, if Liverpool go off and make a couple of shrewd signings, they could well take City's Champions League spot. PaddockLad 17261
Have you seen Rodgers transfer record? Hes never had the shout though. The Anfield transfer "committee" made him take Ballotelli last summer a month after he said that he wasn't signing. Bottom line is Rodgers is a slight upgrade on Pardew as a coach. That's not a high bar. That's why he couldn't get anything out of Ballotelli which is basically his job description i.e. get the best out of the players provided for him, not to recruit them himself. McFaul 35
The fact of the matter is Greece were European Champions 11 years ago, yet Claudio goes in there and his last result was Greece 0 Faroe Islands 1. There's nee words. In other news he's decent but there's no way he's Man Utd class, looks like they've signed Benteke, and they've fucked Victor Valdes off because he won't turn out for the reserves. McFaul 35
Victor Valdes currently pissing on a burning bridge. Fuck knows why he went to Man Utd in the first place. Keepers have longer careers than players in general, Given is still a Premier League goalkeeper, a decent on too and he's 39. This cunt has just turned 33, with 400 Barcelona appearances to his name, Spain caps and quite clearly goes there as second in command then whinges about it 6 months later. I'll be honest though, I think Barcelona of the last decade have been amazing with a very average keeper.
Kid Dynamite 7027
I'm not sure he has an issue being 2nd choice, but making him play in front of 500 fans for the kids week in week out is taking the piss a bit. So a team with Argentinians, Nigerians, Beninians(?), Belgians, Costa Ricans can all let something like this pass without a worry despite all the awful shit the British have no doubt done to their countries, but this cunt has to what, make a statement? What an attention seeking eruption of cuntery.
