Brazil aren't pulling up any trees tbh...piss poor way of measuring things, but England are 7th in the Fifa rankings, Brazil are 19th. Even taking the vagaries of the Fifa system into consideration, that's piss poor.

That's mostly because they haven't played any qualification games though.

makes a mockery of the rankings when an england team that's been largely shit for the last decade is 7th best in the world man. what a joke.

The Fifa thing is looking more and more ludicrous....look at Brazil's results in their games since the last world cup...they've hardly been beaten! http://uk.soccerway.com/teams/brazil/brazil/349/matches/

So Hughes says on his appointment that he's looking to get consistently into the top 10.

Well that takes me right back to Lambias' statement. Do we as much ambition as bloody Stoke now?? :angry2:

I really didn't think England were that bad, but I do confess to only having watched Newcastle this season so my views may be distorted.

They were shite, the passing was awful.

England have been shite years though. Jack Wilshere will make a difference once fit. The fact that I'm pinning my hopes on an injury prone 21 year old tells you all you need to know. We are one of the many second tier also ran countries behind the first tier of Spain, Germany, Holland and Argentina. The gulf between the first and second tier is huge though.

That said, still much better than the dross Newcastle usually offer up!

No need to worry about Brazil, the game has been suspended due to the maracana once again being fucked.

But obviously they're more deserving WC hosts than England

I've been to the Macaroni, it was fucking mint - they brought food and beer to my seat and I was surrounded by hot Brazilian girls in skimpy vests. Can't remember a thing about the game.
