That's some transfer policy - buy your main title rival's star players after walking the league.

Can't be doing morale much good ahead of Dortmund's CL campaign.

I reckon they'll be in for Subotic next.

Revenge I suppose for them selling Hummels to Dortmund for a pittance.

Whats the Gotze transfer comparable to?...a younger RvP going to manu?...Ferdinand going to manu from Leeds when thety were good?....

Figo to Real Madrid would be a good one.

Wilshire to Man U - if Arsenal had actually won some trophies.

Tabloids 1 - MT and his pessimism 0

Bild are now claiming Mourinho's definitely off to Chelsea and he'll be buying Falcao when he gets there. Could be an open goal for an equaliser.

Götze and Lewandowski being added to the squad they already have . I guess it is making them younger up front, even though Gomez, Robben and co aren't exactly old. How long until they go in for Reus.

This piece nails 'Arry

And so, the end is nigh. If QPR lose to Reading on Sunday, their relegation will be confirmed. Indeed, a draw would lead to the slightly confusing situation of one of the teams definitely going down, but it not being certain which one - that result would leave both nine points behind Aston Villa with three games remaining. As Villa are the only team they could overhaul, it wouldn't be possible for them both to survive, leading to some sort of curious limbo where one of them is certainly doomed, but the identity will be unclear. A little like a game of Russian roulette when the loser doesn't get their brains splattered against the wall, but have to make significant cuts to their wage bill in order to conform to the financial realities of the Championship.

So what to make of Harry Redknapp's tenure at QPR? Redknapp himself is already firmly in 'Not my fault guv' mode, referring to 'they' rather than 'we' a few times in recent weeks, questioning whether his players were actually any good, despite saying they were a few months ago, and this week even flagging up the state of the Loftus Road pitch. That they have picked up more points on this apparent cabbage patch than on the road is an incidental point.

Redknapp and his defenders will no doubt try to paint a picture of a basket case club, a side that didn't have a prayer of survival when our hero arrived, but that is bullsh*t. When Redknapp took charge back in November, QPR were six points from safety, with 25 games of the season remaining. At the end of January, they were four points back. And all of this with an expensively assembled squad that included a couple of Champions League winners.

QPR under Redknapp have 20 points from the 21 games of which he has been in charge. Based on that ratio, QPR would have 32 points now - they'd still be in the bottom three. If that was extended over the whole season, they would finish with 36 points - they would've relied on goal difference to survive with that total last season, and since fourth-bottom Villa already have 34, it probably won't be enough this season. Redknapp has undoubtedly improved QPR, but not enough - he was hired to keep them up, not merely 'improve' them. By that standard, he has failed.

Even Redknapp's standard tactic of making sure everyone knows the chairman was behind the big transfers reflects badly on his management. You'll be familiar with his tale about the recruitment of Chris Samba, when Tony Fernandes asked for his dream list of centre-backs currently playing - Harry says he mentioned John Terry, Nemanja Vidic, Rio Ferdinand and Samba, then thought nothing would come of it until Samba was delivered to him. It doesn't say a great deal about his performance that Redknapp can have one of (what he views as) the four best defenders in the world in his team, and still can't manage them to safety.

It's not even that QPR are going down that says Redknapp has done a bad job, more that they seem to be going down with a whimper. After they hinted at a revival, QPR have taken one point from their last five games, including defeats to Aston Villa (two wins in their previous 12 games) and Stoke (one win in their previous 14). They could have been relegated with four games to spare, and will probably be down with three. Frankly, given the money spent on this squad, that is pathetic.

Soccer Saturday saying that he'll bring QPR back up and they're glad he will because "Football needs 'Arry", "He's a breath of fresh air".

Does it fuck & he is fuck.

PFA team of the year...

De Gea (Man Utd), Zabaleta (Man City), Vertonghen (Spurs), R Ferdinand (Man Utd), Baines (Everton), Carrick (Man Utd), Mata (Chelsea), Hazard (Chelsea), Bale (Spurs), Van Persie (Man Utd), Suarez (Liverpool).

Zabaleta in front of Ivanovich?...really?..

Me too. Has Hazard warranted a place ahead of Michu?

think Hazard counts as a midfielder....Michu is good but not as good as the 2 strikers theyve gone for.

Ivanovich is the complete fullback iyam, and he can play centre half..and score goals...and make the tea for Roman etc etc...

Love that someone saw him on HIGNFY and thought that would do.

Not even the most basic research of a bloke who's toured shows called "Pride & Prejudice...& Niggas", "Trophy Nigga" and more recently "a work in progress...& Niggas"

"I think there were a few raised eyebrows over the comedian but that is the sort of thing you can't control. It was unfortunate. He is a professional comedian," Professional comedian Taylor said.
