ANDY Carroll told the Chronicle how he felt he was pushed out of Newcastle United.

Following his £35m move to Liverpool, the Gateshead-born forward said he wanted to stay on Tyneside.

Today the striker poured his heart out as the club explained why they “reluctantly” allowed their prized asset to leave when he submitted a written transfer request after they initially rejected bids from Liverpool.

Carroll said: “I was in talks about a new contract and talking to the gaffer about that.

“He told me that they are now not going to give me a contract. That was as soon as the offer of £30m came in.

“So I asked why (I wasn’t getting a new contract) and he said his hands were tied.

“He said it wasn’t up to him. Then a £35m bid got accepted.

“And then I was allowed to talk to Liverpool. The owner then made it clear to me that I was not wanted at the club.

“Saying that his own helicopter is waiting for me to go down to talk to them.

“So being shown I’m not wanted I said OK I will talk to them. Then suddenly the bid was rejected.

“And then Derek asked me to hand in a transfer request. So I was pushed into a corner and had no choice.

“I wasn’t wanted by them and they made it clear they wanted the money.

“Then I flew down in his (Ashley’s) helicopter. I didn’t want to leave.

“I’m gutted that I wasn’t wanted at my home team after everything I’ve done and progress I’ve made.

“I didn’t want to leave at all. Make sure they know I didn’t want to leave.

“The players, staff and fans were fantastic.”

Meanwhile, Pardew today told the Chronicle: “There was an offer refused in the morning and then we received a second improved offer.

“Myself, Mike Ashley and Derek Llambias were having a discussion when Andy Carroll poked his head around the door and said he wanted to see me.

“I had the conversation with Andy. He said he wanted a new contract now that would make him the highest paid player at the club.

“This from a guy who had signed a new deal just a few months ago.

“I asked him what he wanted but he didn’t reply.”

the rest here

That can't be true. I say that because I don't think the hierarchy can't stoop that low.

If it's true then this has to be the last straw (how many times have we said that?). They have to go.

And we can do far better than 27 year old Carlton Cole.

 I think he's hamming it up, but I can't think why he would go to this extent to save face whilst potentially alienating himself from the fans at his new club.

Cos he's gutted he'll not be able to go to Blu Bambu anymore.

Maybe because he put in a transfer request?

Starting to believe this. Sounds like he has been very ill advised.

Starting to believe what? That he put in a request isn't in dispute is it? He says as much in the interview.

"Derek asked me to sign away a few million in loyalty bonus that I was due if I didn't want to go. Although my loyalty is unwavering....I did it...that's right...I did it....because Derek Llambias asked me to and i fucking love him. He's been like a bloody father to me that bloke. I love the glasses off him, the way he helps me get away with stabbing people and punching women."

How could we ever doubt him?

Not a defence of Ashley in any way but where does a young lad, currently out injured, with half a good PL season to his name get the idea he's worth a new, improved contract just after he's signed a new, improved contract? The game fucking stinks man.

When someone puts a £35m bid in for him.

Big AC: ""Errrr dekka. Liverpool are going to offer me £100k a week. What do you say to that?"

Dekka "Put a transfer request in and fuck off"

From his agent.

It wouldn't be hard to persuade him that he was being dicked about - I imagine the players think Ashley/Llambias are cunts just as much as we do

I'd have a lot of respect for Pardew if he quit.

It's amazing. Ashley and Llambias have even alienated one of their friends in the game now.

Their lack of logic and foresight is incredible. It's all about the money for them and they don't realise that NUFC is not Sports Direct. They haven't got a clue and they're determined to ruin every positive element of this club at the earliest opportunity. They saw £35m, realised that that is a lot of money, and took it without considering the situation it leaves us in. How is this going to please local players coming through the ranks? A few good games and you'll be cashed in on even if you love the club?

I absolutely despise them and believe that he is surely in the top 3 worst football club owners of all time. I don't have a clue how Ashley became so successful as a businessman. He must have got very lucky along the way.

Seriously though, say a company offered you a massive pay increase but you'd rather stay at your job. Would you tell your current employers that you dont want to leave but this is an amazing offer. Can you get anywhere near the salary they are offering?

I would.

Think that all comes from the agent. Who is the agent?

He seems to be making his money back now and when recovers it all I hope he sells the club at reasonable price and never darkens us with his massive shadow ever again.

They were fighting over him...

Newcastle's in-form striker Andy Carroll, who can’t seem to avoid controversy off the pitch, is embroiled in a dispute with his former agent that is the subject of FA arbitration.

Peter Harrison, who has represented Carroll, 21, since he was 16 and claims to have him under contract until next April, has a complaint lodged with the FA over monies allegedly owed from the player’s five-year deal with Newcastle that was signed in the summer.

Harrison is understood to have been told a year earlier that Carroll wanted to join agent Mark Curtis.

His clients include Newcastle captain Kevin Nolan, with whom the bad-boy centre forward has been staying to meet his bail conditions.

It is Curtis who negotiated Carroll’s new contract with Newcastle and Harrison is understood to be considering legal action against his rival middle man, based in Gibraltar, once his FA case against Carroll is resolved.

The tug-of-war over English football’s latest hot property has parallels with the long-running legal battles that agent Paul Stretford has fought since 2002 over his representation of Wayne Rooney.

The friction between Harrison and Curtis goes back to the 2006 Panorama bungs documentary in which Harrison, duped by an undercover sting, provided an introduction to Curtis’s manager client Sam Allardyce.

Still not a profitable business, outside of once in a generation deals like this. We can't make another Andy Carroll to balance the books next year.

True. He could just sell 3 of our best players instead every year though.

Torres last night claimed he had advanced his career by joining "one of the top-level clubs in the world" after finalising his British transfer record £50m move from Liverpool to Chelsea.

The Spain international signed a five-and-a-half-year contract at Stamford Bridge last night worth £175,000 a week and revealed that discussions had been going on between the clubs for almost two weeks

Discussed for two weeks, while Liverpool let it be known they are interested in AC and would be paying him 85k per week.

Andy Carroll

Carroll said: “I was in talks about a new contract and talking to the gaffer about that.

“He told me that they are now not going to give me a contract. That was as soon as the offer of £30m came in.

“So I asked why (I wasn’t getting a new contract) and he said his hands were tied.

“He said it wasn’t up to him. Then a £35m bid got accepted.

“And then I was allowed to talk to Liverpool. The owner then made it clear to me that I was not wanted at the club.

“So being shown I’m not wanted I said OK I will talk to them. Then suddenly the bid was rejected.

“And then Derek asked me to hand in a transfer request. So I was pushed into a corner and had no choice.

“I wasn’t wanted by them and they made it clear they wanted the money.

Ashley/LLambias lead Carroll on into thinking they want him to stay saying they will give him a better contract, then at the last minute they say actually know we want to accept this offer. Agent goes we cant take this big man they are taking the piss lets get on the plane to the pool.

Before the cogs in his brain have had time to work it out hes handed a request in got to Liverpool and its all over.

This is the truth I am choosing to believe
