Bellamy to miss St James Park visit?

Blackburn have been rocked by the news that influential striker Craig Bellamy may not play again until the New Year.

The injury-prone Welshman has already been laid low by knee and thigh problems this season and has now succumbed to a hamstring strain ahead of Saturday's match against West Ham.

Bellamy picked up the injury in training on Wednesday and the initial prognosis has it that Bellamy will not pull on a Rovers shirt until mid January.

That would see Bellamy doubtful for a return to Newcastle on January 21, the club he left to join Rovers in a £4.5 million deal in July.

The news comes a huge blow to Rovers manager Mark Hughes who has raised expectations at Ewood Park this season.

It will be interesting to see the reaction of the crowd when he comes (still think he will play at SJP in Jan).

On one hand we will have the folk who think he is a tosser and on the other we will have those who think he is just 'the bizz'.

Imagine him playing and it being Souness' last game after getting thumped.

I'll set em up, you knock em down

On a more serious note though, I think Bellamy's injury record, and his percieved attitude did more to depress his transfer fee than the oft quoted Souness is a twat theory.

well that was easy meat

Glad you said "percieved" attitude though [as most of football knows what Souness is like]

And I like the "souness is a twat " bit as well
