Howmanheyman 33270
So why are we replacing a free transfer with a £9m one if we don't care about winning? Profit? i.e. "Sell on value"?
The Fish 10872
So they got someone in early for next season, 8 months wages pissed down the pan Aye, alright. What's your alternative? Was he bought to make a push for the champions league? When he couldn't play any of the games Ba couldn't play, and we were in desperate need of a centre back above all else? Don't be silly. Wasnt he bought because he was the striker they tried to get in the summer but couldnt and had always targeted long before anyone knew, free signing Ba would have a great season. Yes, but shhhh, we're building a conspiracy.

According to llambias. If that's the case then we'll no doubt use the Ba money to bring in someone just as good.

The Fish 10872
Yes, but shhhh, we're building a conspiracy. Ba's transfer clause is a conspiracy? No, but I think it's far more likely we'll lose Tiote than Ba. Ba represents a good return on a small investment and Ashley is more likely to use a valuable asset that was picked up for buttons than risk another £9m on a replacement unless he can get £20m (or the like). Saying that we signed Cisse as Ba's replacement suggest we are making any purchase with a view to a definite sale in the future. Wheras it seems to me that we're making purchases that, if the right bid comes in, we can sell. That's why we're paying for players up front. That's why we're looking at young players (so we can fluff out their value with the nebulous "potential") Ba's replacement would cost a fortune and may not produce the goods. Cisse is the striker that was identified by the scouting team and we went for him only when the valuation fell within the criteria set by the management team. He isn't just Ba's replacement, he's the striker they wanted. I think we'd have gone for him even if Ba had been a flop and was moved on for buttons. Ashley won't have a say on Ba if there's a release clause in his contract though. I thought we were after Maiga when there was still a question mark over Ba, who we'd got on a free. We wouldn't pay the going rate for him though. We went into the season with the risk of Ba's knee exploding and no backup of any quality. We went back for Maiga again in October and the deal was almost done, but he failed a medical...then we moved on to Cisse. If Cisse and Ba are supposed to be our main strikers for next season and beyond, then I'd be very worried as we'll be fucked when ACN rolls around again. I thought we had a 12 million offer turned down for him in the summer because they were holding out for 17 mill. Anyway, Ba's yet to return to form since December and theres not that many clubs who might want to gamble on his knee.

jaythesouthernmag 0
It's more akin to deleting a channel off your telly as it only shows repeats tbh. indeed, the amount of repetitive posts saying how wonderfully Mike Ashley is doing things these days by people taken in by a half decent run of result for the first time in 5 years, is cringing stuff. Find and quote a post where Mike Ashley and wonderful are used together, if you can't then shut the fuck up and stop making things up

LeazesMag 0
no point trying to tell the bairns mate. So why do you relentlessly bang on about the same shit in every thread? Honestly Leazes, have some self awareness... for the love of God. perhaps, if you have resumed your role of self-appointed toontastic policeman, you could tell mancmag to stop posting that ridiculous Groundhog Day photo and answer, intelligently if he can, the gist of what he's disagreed with me about for the last 4-5 years ? LeazesMag 0
So what exactly is your point when asking why ibrox isn't a tesco yet then why not ask the people who forecast doom and gloom, that totally ignore that the club was a well run high flying football club for over a decade, that very question ? But you won't, or if you do, you won't get a reply. Silly boy.

Why would MA do that is the question? ie you might decide you'll adopt that approach if you've acquired the company for buttons in the first place because you'll only have lost buttons when it eventually goes bust, but you wouldnt do it if you'd spent hundreds of millions acquiring it. That way you lose hundreds of millions. Thick as mince.
