Andy Carrol was the best thing that ever happened to Joey Barton. What now? I don't believe the board one bit. They could have denied AC's transfer request until the summer window. They would have had more time to scout prospective replacements better and not waste that money on desperate buys. If they buy/loan anyone at all. You have a good solid team and then add the likes of Tiote and Ben Arfa. You sort contracts out and everything is starting to look good. Why risk it all for 20-30 million (allowing for some of it to be used for a shit replacement). Why make your manager look a clueless tit.
