What do people make of Bendtner? Seems a donkey one minute, decent the next. £17m.

Not convinced by Elmander/Bothroyd. Carlton Cole/Crouch aren't good enough.

One thing is for sure. Its a step-down.

I dont think Bendtner is much worse than Caroll, main downside is he just isnt as imposing as he could be and certainly doesnt frighten defenders like AC. Would be surprised if we got anyone even half as good as Bendtner now though.

Defo a step down anyway.

Also we shouldn't be looking at a strike partner for Shola, we should be looking for a replacement.

I still say £35m is too much to knock back, but I'm starting to taste and accept what a weak vulnerable club we are now. I remember when we were strong enough to tell Barca to fuck off for Ginola, and Real to fuck off over Nobby. It is a canny sad neet. Llambias is travelling trying to get a decent loan in. Why don't we just get Podolski? He'd come 100%, or even that Ruiz from Twente.

Very said indeed, especially for those of us who remember the first time round when we always sold our best players and had to accept we were never going to challenge them and be where we should be with the crowds and resources we have.

But we'd all probably have accepted it if previously ashley had shown ambition and he used this to really build a squad, because every player has a price and i'm with you that £35m for Carroll is insane, but as the likelyhood of it all going on players is so low it just depresses you.

He's been in court twice, stories of drugs, prostitutes, he's had a lot of injuries for a young lad, this definitely doesn't feel anywhere near as bad as Gazza, and Peter. I was too young to appreciate the Waddle loss.

Anyone blames Carroll in this, they can frig right off. This transfer request shite is solely for face-saving and excuses in press conferences and statements. Feel a bit sorry for Pardew having to say it with a straight face.

Not saying your wrong, but Carroll could have said no.

I'd bet a fiver that if there was some footage leaked of a meeting with Llambias and Carroll, that Llambias basically told him to fuck off so they could have a good drink at Aspers and spend 10% of it on some knacker from the Championship.

As much as the club could and should have knocked this back, the same applies to Carroll, end of.

Oh fuck off , being forced out of a job is easy in most circumstances, how fucking easy would it be to hang in when its going to cost your employer 35m, honestly your a spastic.

You thick fucker.

He's a geordie, a god on tyneside, super rich, loved by his team mates and his employers are hated.

Oh fucking do one you've had your moronic biased tongue thrust firmly up the rectum of the board for god knows how long now,

"don't worry lads they're doing well!"

"Alan's been told carroll won't be sold!"

"but we've signed Hatem!"

so now that all the fucking lies and deceit has once again been confirmed, you don't think they can put pressure on a 20year old to make sure he fuck off's when 35m they won't reinvest is in the balance?

Honestly in the words of Stevie you are a mug cunt.

Seems others agree with me.

one, and the vast majority of the board will remember your a moron who thought the board could do no wrong, and no doubt will think the same in a weeks time.

Half of this board were saying the offer should be accepted at lunchtime you boring little man.

who will see NUFC as a progressive club now Stevie ?

I don't think anyone did to start with. Maybe this could be what we need to progress, he wasn't prepared to put anymore of his own cash in, perhaps this is our transfer budget now, you can sign 3, 4, 5 good players with this money.

Don't rate the lad one bit and he's obviously a heed the baal in all, I also get the impression he's got a massively inflated opinion of his abilities and would demand a large wage.

Also agree with you about all the others, this is the problem we've got now we're not at a level whereby it's easy to attract someone that can do what Carroll was doing and with every fucker knowing we got a massive chunk of cash as well as being desperate for a striker we'll have our eyes ripped out.

You can chastise Shola all game long every Saturday. Shola would never turn his back on his home town club.

No, nee cunt is dumb enough to bid for the work shy wanker.

Birmingham did in this window and we knocked it back =(

Caulkin interview with Carroll November

Carroll interview in Times Nov 27: “This is my home, what I want to be doing, the club I want to play for,the shirt I want to wear..That’s it, 100 per cent. I’ve just signed a five-year contract and as it stands, I want to be here forever.".

Because they're mugs? Arsenal wouldn't dream of it, who's the bigger club Arsenal or Liverpool, Arsenal by far in my eyes. The only time I'd be happy for us to spend £35m on one player is if we had a filthy rich sugar daddy, or we were getting a proven world class player. AC is the 8th highest transfer fee in human history.
