Spurs are offering 30m plus Pav

Liv 35m

Slight concern about the Liv bid obviously.

My gut feeling is that it is now 50/50 and that MA wants 40m to do business.

You know nowt, bugger off.

You're all over the shop today Stevie. Pipe down ;)

I can't believe there are people thinking we should even consider selling Carroll. Why on earth they would want to watch Shola and Best week in week out is beyond me.

Now if Chelsea do buy Torres, we should be sniffing around Daniel Sturridge

BAC staying :

A source close to the player said to the Chronicle today: “He’s in Newcastle and he’s going to be at the training ground today.

“That should tell you everything you need to know about whether he’s staying or going.

“He’s tired of saying how much he wants to stay.”

The player was preparing for a photo-shoot with Umbro in Newcastle today which pours cold water on talk that he was bound for Anfield – or anywhere else.

Toon star Carroll will be joined by Aston Villa’s out-of-favour winger Stephen Ireland at United as Alan Pardew concludes his transfer business hopefully having kept the United No 9 along with Steven Taylor, Mike Williamson, Nile Ranger – and Joey Barton, who is due to put the finishing touches to a a new contract.

Barton’s agent Willie McKay today confirmed that Barton was happy sign a new deal.

We'll see.

I think it will come down to how much Carroll want to stay, although couple of bids seem to have been rejected it's clear word is out there that we might do

business on Carroll.

Massive moment for MA. Carroll and the like don't grow on trees and at that age are incredibly attractive to clubs.

I don't want us to, I just think 35m+ is a lot to turn down, IF he uses a large portion to buy a replacement.

But can we get a replacement today? I don't think so...

More than Barca paid for David Villa.

A British transfer record for a lad who's only got half a season under his belt as a first choice striker in the top flight and one international friendly cap.

It's an unbelievable offer to turn down and will go some way to convincing me of Ashley's intent if rejected.

Spot on. If he sells him after all that's been said then it's all been yet another load of bollocks.

Andy Carroll will never - repeat never - be worth more than these offers, so Newcastle are either 1. deluded or 2. ambitious. Hope it's 2.

What if he scores another 10 goals this season? Isnt he on a 5 year contract? Could easliy be worth more in the summer if he keeps scoring.

I was just thinking, can you imagine how much it will be rammed down out throats by the club? The fact they didnt cash in on AC when they had the chance and what potential cost this is to MA?

His agent must be ready to jump of a bridge somewhere... Or use this as a tool to negotiate his nexy contract (thankfully not close)
