Cannit understand any of yous saying he'll defo not go. What a load of shite. If they've actually tabled an offer of that amount, I can see Ashley accepting then leaving it up to Andy.

Oh, dispute it all you want but their club's run ten times better than ours and they're far far ahead of us on the pitch. I don't know how anyone could say they're a nothing club and all that shit cos they've got a smaller crowd.

Hope this isn't true.

Dont worry, we wont accept the bid

until 23:55 on Monday

He's reporting the breaking news from The Sun, no less.

It's not like the Sun wouldn't know if that ringpiece Redknapp had made an offer, with all his mates in the media.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's true, and I wouldn't be surprised if it gets accepted. Then it's up to Carroll, and from a career perspective it's a bit of a no-brainer.

There's no doubt the bid is true. Mac your respect for Tottenham surprises me. They are a well run club yes. Newcastle United have reached higher heights in the last 15 years than Tottenham will EVER do, we are a club with potential and imo a bigger name than Tottenham. If this was Chelsea or Man Utd, I'd be slightly worried however I genuinely believe Carroll wants to stay here for most of his career. He hasn't got that strength of character or intelligence to cope with London, people who live there will no what I mean, if he moved to London he'd end up with a life off the pitch worse than Gazza there ye are. I'm prepared to put my money where my mouth is. £20 bet anyone who wants it that he'll be at the toon on Feb1st.

Stevie, your defence of NUFC is admirable, but it's as plain as day that Spurs are a club that are going places. Today. The last 15 years means fuck all man, because we're under different ownership, and under the current owner we are going NOWHERE.

You might be right that Carroll's lack of character/intelligence will keep him here, but that's fuck all to do with us being a better prospect than Spurs. We're basically relying on him being too stupid to spot what's best for his career.

Aaaaaaah . . . . it all falls into place now. I honestly didnt have a clue what you were on about  Not that that's petty at all. For all Stevie and me aren't best mates I'd rather spend an eternity in his company than have to spend more than 5 minutes in your company you sad little man.

I'm fuckin great company, but you never go to the pub so it would have to be the pinball machines down the coast

My defence of NUFC certainly isn't defending the club like CT does, it's defending the stature and size of where the club should be. Tottenham are very much the 5th or 6th club in this country, and imo their policies dictate they won't be a long term fixture in the top 4. If Carroll really wanted a move which I don't believe he does, he'd wait for one of the genuinely big clubs to come in, that's why I think this is a no brainer.

Happy days, you must feel tempted sometimes.

Anyway fucking Tottenham, my uneducated but considered response to this is they're a bunch of mugs, and Carroll will be a Newcastle player in early February. IF it did happen, we'd probably get Crouch anyway, but it won't. Part of this regimes mission statement is to keep their best YOUNG players, and to be fair, what young up and coming player have we sold in the last 3 years? NEN!

We don't know there's even been a bid. DannyB must be pissing himself at this thread.

I firmly believe there has been, it's ridiculed as a paper, but to be fair The Sun are better than any other media outlet at getting things correct. Fuck Danny B anyway, fucking dull Reading displaced tool who doesn't even go to games.

The one thing I'll say is if the FCB was bold enough to lift this pathetic media blackout and actually say himself what is going on, maybe we wouldn't all be calling eachother mongs and what have ye. Pardew, and I'll give him respect for it has come out and said he won't be leaving but that means nothing to the reality of the situation.

This is how I'd simplify the situation;

Carroll's class, Spurs have plenty money to spend and are in a better and more willing state to offer players what they want i.e lowie and high standard football. This is at the moment btw, I know they've normally had their end of season party by now but they do have a very very good squad. I don't particularly like Spurs but I like how they've grown as a club on and off the pitch in recent years. Players see this aswell, I'd assume. We're a massive club, amazing fans, the works but we aren't in a position to challenge the top4, which I personally think Spurs can. Sad, but it's true at the moment.

What helps us in comparison to say Bent leaving them bamps is that he's got the club in his heart and seems a down to earth lad who knows he's at a club he dreamed of playing for. I doubt it'd be a massive lure to want to play for spurs which would drive him to leave, and more the will to achieve. He will be Englands long term number9 and in this day and age these types of player will always generate massive interest worldwide.

Maybe he will stay, maybe he'll leave but I'd guarantee if it's not spurs coming in now, it'll be a bigger club in the summer or next summer .. This will test Ashleys resolve and give an indication of our future if it's shown we accept or reject said 'bid'.

Nice source. I thought it was bullshit but you declaring it known fact has now made me u-turn.

They fucking drink together you mong, they have the same circle of friends and have been photographed together on the piss a number of times.

Theres no ITK about it, Im not saying Levy told me its done and hes a mate of Ashley Im saying that because they are mates then a bid will only be placed after the deals been done. Tabling a bid unsettles a player and forces other clubs hands, if the player wants to stay then their agent will try and screw the club for more wages none of that does NUFC and Ashley any good if they legitimately dont want to sell.

Levy wont do that to Ashley and Ashley wont do that to Levy. Its not some secret dealing or conspiracy theory its simply a mate wont screw another mate over.

Are you sure? FMA is definitely mates with Paul Kemsely who is rumoured to have left Spurs after a bust up with Levy.

Whatever FMA’s plan is for NUFC Pardew has to be in on the project and it would be odd for FMA to publically undermine the cockney gobshite this soon into their relationship. Yet we all know FMA is very odd and capable of anything. £25m for Carroll would be bad business and if we are to sell it will surely be after FMA has indulged in his ‘balls of steel’ negotiating and squeezed a higher bid out of Spurs, at which point he’ll think he’s the dogs bollocks and probably sell up on deadline day.

For what it’s worth I think Carroll’s injury will scupper any deal in this window. He was clearly crocked during the City game and was stupidly allowed to play on for about 15 minutes... then allegedly he got pissed out of his skull and fell off a stool. No chance he'd pass a proper medical.

Carroll's a big fish in a small pond up here and you can tell he loves it, he's got all his old mates etc thinking he's the dogs nuts and no doubt has his pick of slappers on nights oot. This is what he's dreamed of growing up playing in SJP etc, I know it sounds corny but it's true we all dream of playing there when we're little. If Ashley accepts (which as much as he's a cunt as others have pointed out there's been no proof so far he'd cash in on a young star), then obviously it's up to Andy and I'm not sure if he'd want to go to London and become just another footballer, plus let's be honest he'd lose his head down there he's off his rocker up here let alone in a place like London.

Good post in some respects but the bit in bold, if FMA was looking at it from a business perspective and he's the country's number 9 for years, surely it would be better to wait 3 or 4 years to cash in. £25m isn't that much in modern football, when you look at Kaka who's been finished 3 years went for £57m.

Aye that's what I was thinking too, he has the relationship with that total cock Kemsley, in fact Ashley was directly responsible for Kemsley's £200m fortune.

IF the £25m was paid up front and not drips and drabs then I'd take that. BUT, would every penny be seen to be spent on the squad? This is where it falls down because I wouldn't trust Ashley to not pocket a chunk of the money as a pay back.

We'd be better off keeping him.

If that's his outlook on life, we'd be better off cashing in on him now anyway before he goes to shit.

It's not that small a pond though. If Tottenham's pond is the one at Paddy Freeman's Park wors is the one in Leazes Park. You get more scutiny and attention playing for Newcastle than you do for them. Other than two quick games against AC Milan to say he's played in the CL, I don't see the attraction of uprooting everything to go there.
