Marko 0
If this is true and we do sell him then it confirms all along what most of us have been thinking: that we're nothing more than a selling club, content with surviving in the premiership and happy to sell any player with a shred of talent. I'll be fucking outraged if the club sells Carroll.
Bibble 0
Don't like the sound of this. I fear he'll be off. Would leaves us with only second (and third) rate strikers to pick from and more nerve jangling run-in to the end of season. Well, this season was all starting to look a bit too easy... Guest
It won't happen, this thread is just for doom-mongers like peasepud to go "wahhhhhh, wahhhhhhh, we're a selling club" despite us not selling a first team player since the relegation summer. sandman02uk 0
Its in the Sun so theres no proof of anything but what I would say is if Spurs have tabled a bid then Ashley is accepting it. He and Levy are good mates and last weekend it would have been discussed. Levy will know exactly how much Ashley will accept if anything. If Ashley has made it clear he wont sell then Levy wont put a bid in, why piss off your mate by unsettling his players? especially when you know that mate will do you favours in the future. If we are accepting a bid for Carroll then the deal is already done and dusted, it just wont be announced until the last minute. Good post and entirely plausible, obviously I hope it's not true. First local lad to come good in ages and half a season in the top flight, tragic. Apart from it's all centred around that bolded bit of bullshit hearsay, unless you've got a source peasepud, stfu I thought it was common knowledge that the fat man is a Spurs fan and him and Levy were mates, I was going to post something similar to Pud but he beat me to it

Kid Dynamite 7030
Does no one else reckon its been done since day one? I've said it all along, Ashley will make Spurs wait until the last day of the window so we can't buy a replacement, Spurs have said ''ok'' but on the proviso that he doesn't play for NUFC again. Hence the trips to London, Dubai, Switzerland etc.
Guest
Thought it was Kemsley who was Ashley's mate myself like, but I suppose since he's no longer there, it's more convenient for the wankers to pretend him and Levy are bezzies

Guest You FCB Get Out Of Our Club
Cannit understand any of yous saying he'll defo not go. What a load of shite. If they've actually tabled an offer of that amount, I can see Ashley accepting then leaving it up to Andy. Oh, dispute it all you want but their club's run ten times better than ours and they're far far ahead of us on the pitch. I don't know how anyone could say they're a nothing club and all that shit cos they've got a smaller crowd. Hope this isn't true. Dont worry, we wont accept the bid until 23:55 on Monday He's reporting the breaking news from The Sun, no less. It's not like the Sun wouldn't know if that ringpiece Redknapp had made an offer, with all his mates in the media. I wouldn't be surprised if it's true, and I wouldn't be surprised if it gets accepted. Then it's up to Carroll, and from a career perspective it's a bit of a no-brainer. There's no doubt the bid is true. Mac your respect for Tottenham surprises me. They are a well run club yes. Newcastle United have reached higher heights in the last 15 years than Tottenham will EVER do, we are a club with potential and imo a bigger name than Tottenham. If this was Chelsea or Man Utd, I'd be slightly worried however I genuinely believe Carroll wants to stay here for most of his career. He hasn't got that strength of character or intelligence to cope with London, people who live there will no what I mean, if he moved to London he'd end up with a life off the pitch worse than Gazza there ye are. I'm prepared to put my money where my mouth is. £20 bet anyone who wants it that he'll be at the toon on Feb1st.

Ashley and Levy are mates, thats a known fact, not ITK or hearsay but a known fact. I dont go with the belief that Ashleys a Spurs fan and will do Spurs deals at the detriment of his own business but I do believe that if Ash is willing to sell a player then Levy will be given preferential treatment and thats not a problem tbh as long as the same applies in reverse. What my post is saying is that Levy will not put in a bid unless he knows Ashely is willing to accept, he and MA will have previously discussed it and agreed a position, that could be £25m/£30m/£35m and we talk, it could be no sale until Summer or it could be fuck off we're not selling. Whatever it is though the deal will have been agreed and neither side will spoil that agreement. Im with J69 though, if (and I believe we will) we sell then it wont be announced until last minute. Pardew was forthright and adamant that there was no chance he'd leave in this window. I can see your logic but at the same time too many of us are trying to look for conspiracy theories when they don't exist. From a business point of view it wouldn't even be a good thing for the club to sell Carroll, it looks like he'll be England's number 9 as well as our own, and £25m could be a drop in the ocean compared to what his market value could be in 3 or 4 years time. Like I say I'll bet any of you 20 quid.

They fucking drink together you mong, they have the same circle of friends and have been photographed together on the piss a number of times. Theres no ITK about it, Im not saying Levy told me its done and hes a mate of Ashley Im saying that because they are mates then a bid will only be placed after the deals been done. Tabling a bid unsettles a player and forces other clubs hands, if the player wants to stay then their agent will try and screw the club for more wages none of that does NUFC and Ashley any good if they legitimately dont want to sell. Levy wont do that to Ashley and Ashley wont do that to Levy. Its not some secret dealing or conspiracy theory its simply a mate wont screw another mate over. Christmas Tree 4725
Be devastated if true and dont know how Pardew or the board could justify, unless some sort of mad offer came in over the 35 mill mark. The only niggle for me is whether their arses are going that this thigh thing might turn into something worse and they want to cash in. At the end of the day though, Carroll can still they no, regardless of what anyone else wants. Hopefully just more Tottenham paper talk. As for others saying Tottenham wouldnt do this unless it was agreed.....They've been blabbering on about Carroll all window.
