Guest You FCB Get Out Of Our Club
He wouldn't say that if he lived in the toon. Geordie people are statistically the best looking in the UK, the tallest and the most elegant. Living in Wigan ffs you know what you're going to get, why moan about it? Always the same when these french players go home, in the papers over there, he'll say he was misquoted you watch. The french will lap it up too cos they think we're bamps. where did you get that stat from? It's a known fact. People from Berwick to the Tyne are statistically on average 1 and a half inches taller than the rest of the country, due to the Viking influence. Smallest are Scousers, I read a thesis on it, because I've always been interested in why we're better specimens than the rest of the country. Next time you go to the NW, look at how many dwarfs there are compared to here, look at the physical features of their faces and it's years of interbreeding going back before the time of Cromwell. Kevin S. Assilleekunt 1
My point being that I don't think it's a position we can put ourselves in. We've no real idea how we would react to £20k a week and living in Wigan. That kind of money is out of the majority of peoples grasp. That lifestyle is as alien to us as can be. It's just a tired cliché, we probably would suffer living somewhere crap, but we haven't been a professional footballer for our formative years with all the ego-fluffing and mania that surrounds it. We're grounded and hence why we'd appreciate our lot in life, even if that lot was not a lot. Of course you or I would live in Crewe for £20k a week because we appreciate the value of money and doing the thing you love for a fat cheque. This guy (and seemingly many others) haven't got a scooby doo. In the same way as that saying goes "A man is only as loyal as his options", the same is true for footballers (on the whole, there are of course exceptions) Tbf 'this guy' has worked harder than any of us and become a professional footballer. He probably came from a shithole. His comments were fair imo, there is no comparison between Madrid and Wigan, Wigan is a shithole and I should know, I live one train stop away. sniffer 0
I hate this "I'd live in a shit hole for 20k a week" shit. Course you would, you're not on 20k a week and you don't really have a choice. However, if you're a professional footballer, you're able to move around a bit and live in nice areas, and be on 20k a week. Now, put it in terms you're more familiar with, would you live in a shit hole for your current wage? I know for a damned fact I wouldn't You are missing the point. Which was what you think and what you say are two completely different things when you are in any job. Even professional football.

ChezGiven 0
One of my pet subjects this. Its been studied extensively, capital cities attract fit young women because thats where you find rich successful young men. There was a feminist economist that did loads of work on this, came to my attention though reading Tim Harford. You have to be thick as fucking pigshit to actually have to go through the process of moving from the capital of Spain to a provincial shit hole in the north of England to realise the quality of blart is going to be different. What a mug.
Billy Castell 0
Worst place I've been like, fucking terrible. Even worse than Sunderland. I could name at least 15 worse places I've been watching the toon. Boro, Luton, Rotherham, Stoke, Oldham, Coventry, Derby, Barnsley, Southend, Blackburn and that's off the top of my head. King Street is areet. I actually live next door to where Highfield Road was, and yes it is pretty dire. The toothless prossies that look rougher than Steve Bruce in drag can be off puttingif you have to get a bus for the monning shift. £2.50 for a balti isn't bad though, and you don't get free explosive shits. There are good parts of Coventry though.

There are good parts of Coventry though. Aye were and Hitler did a bit of renovating. Interesting that Hitler should choose to bomb fuck out of Coventry more than any other city in the country. All the great cities and he picks on Coventry. Last time I was there we played at Highfield Road, it was the TFOP game, a song I didn't hear although we were in the home end. Shithole place, we went to a nightclub in Worcester that neet called "Tramps", which was apt about the whole area within a 50 mile radius.

And they are crap cities too. It's noticeable which houses/flats are the new ones built where Highfield Road was as you walk past. I don't live in one of those shiny new little boxes though. Not been to the Ricoh, but I went to Highfield Road a couple of times. Saw Strachan's last game before he was sacked, they lost 1-0 to Grimsby. However, Coventry is not the worst place I've lived. Avoid Bridlington, or Royston Vasey-on-sea as it should be known. Diame would scream if he lived there. Nice try, Mr Sandman, but, unfortunately, folk from Alnwick are statistically shorter and more ugly/physically deformed from the norm of the n.east of England. However, we folk from Whitley Bay are statistically shown to be more good looking and Adonis-like than the rest of the area. That is a known FACT! I read it. Can't recall where though. Mate I'm not making this up. I've even read it online, I looked for it the other day, I'll have another look. From the Tyne to the borders, tallest people in the UK. It supports my North Tyne/South Tyne theories too. Geordies are physically bigger than the rest of the country, and people in general on the East Coast of England all the way down to Kent, and generally bigger than the rest. Billy Castell 0
I suppose I am part of master race, since my dads side of the family are from the east coast, around Hartlepool in particular. Mind you my mum's side are from south Wales.
