ToonMarshy 2
Taken from :- http://www.nufc.co.uk/articles/20110123/dr...2281670_2274321 "Wayne Routledge made an instant impression in his first game for Queens Park Rangers as he scored a late winner to see off Coventry City on Sunday. Two days earlier, the jet-heeled winger joined Neil Warnock's side for the remainder of the season - a year after arriving at St. James' Park from The Hoops. He played a big part in helping United gain promotion from the Championship, and now hopes to do the same for Rangers. And he got off to the best possible start at Loftus Road as he scored a well-taken goal with just over ten minutes remaining to secure a 2-1 win for his side. He controlled Adel Taarabt's clever ball and prodded past Kieran Westwood to cap an excellent display in the televised encounter. He was also chosen as the npower man of the match. Routledge told Sky Sports: "Everyone enjoys playing football and I'm no different, so to come back, play my first game and get a win and score - it couldn't have gone any better." Fitz Hall, who spent the second half of last season on loan at St. James', appeared as a late substitute for QPR." Honestly can't believe that we would have been able to play routs instead of donkey Perch yesterday if we hadn't sent him out with no cover planned. Not suggesting that he would've scored or anything but he can't have made any less of an impact than James managed - just a shame that Wayne couldn't seem to find the late winners touch against anyone we faced! Guest alex
I was just reading about this actually. Good luck to him. And I thought he would've been a better option to bring than Lovenkrands yesterday.

Ok, its the championship, but his touch today and the position QPR played him in was interesting. beats anything shola's done the last two games

As I actually suggested he could do a job alongside Carroll in that role, especially given the lack of mobility we have amongst our forwards. Lovenkrands being an exception but he's shit. Guest alex
Not sure he's a PL quality in terms of a player you'd want to be starting many games but he's a good attacking option to bring on when you want to stretch the opposition or need someone to make an impact which is why I wouldn't have let him go without an adequate replacement. And the talk now appears to suggest SWP is off to Fulham.

Fitness looks to be a real issue with him tho as he always seems to be carrying a few extra lbs which affects his movement. Bit worrying as he's only 21. Still worth a punt like. I meant Routledge not Tar-whatsit. I doubt QPR would sell him anyway and it's not like they need the money.
